Colorado Mechanics/Paint Shops

I haven't had much luck with performance mechanics in CO and I was wondering if anyone has any recomendations? I am thinking about doing an H22 swap, but need to have a good mechanic before I even consider it.

Also, I am looking to get my car repainted (again). I had a really bad experience with a local guy two years ago, and the best shop I found after that was Maaco. (They did the paint that is on there now, but I didn't strip her to metal cause I had no $$ so two years later it is chipping pretty badly in spots ) So any suggestions there would be great too...

I don't know any neighborhood guys, but I have talked to the guys at CorSport off Santa Fe and they sound pretty legit as far as mechanics go.

I don't trust Tobi from TC Performance. I've heard a lot of bad things about him. Corsports are really cool guys, and I would take it to them. If not, check out Importsports and talk to Sam or hit up Pro Imports (which is right next to them) and talk to Alvin.

Prolly wont be doing the H swap for a little while. I want a mechanic for various things like installing coilovers and struts, headers maybe, etc. I don't have the time or mechanic know how to really do that kinda stuff by myself, and this is my daily driver so I can't really have it out of commission for extended periods of time.

Just want to find a good mechanic that I can trust for little stuff like that for now. Don't wana give up my 4 bangers gas mileage just yet .

Ditto on looking for a good paint guy/gal. I'm down in C Springs, though...

Looking to spend no more than $1k for a complete repaint. Have a car that is going bald...too much CO sun!

Shoot me an email at metalball@gmail.com for now. I've been a member here for a while, but don't post or visit very frequently, as I own an Accord J30.
