Battle of the Grocery Getters! 03 AV6 vs 07+ Camry 3.5L
I had a nice little run with a Camry 3.5L this am. I have seen this particular camry before driving in my area somewhat aggressively, but I never have had the chance to mess with him due to traffic. Well the racing gods were shining their light on me today!! I see that he is making a right turn on the the highway in front of me in the same direction I was heading. He accelerated at a nice pace and I followed suit. Sure enough the next stop light ahead turns red! I see my opening to take the right lane as he takes the left. I look over and it is two young guys with beards with the windows down. Reminded me of a jewish duck dynasty!
To the race: Light goes green and I give it medium throttle to see if he bites and sure enough at about 5MPH or so we both hit it(he started a fender ahead of me). Through 1st gear pull it was pretty much dead even with me pulling ever so slightly up to 40mph where I was able to catch even with him, through 2nd gear I start pulling slightly harder throughout. It was a nice slow pull but steady. At the end of my 2nd gear he was about a half of a car behind my bumper. Kept the slight pull until I stopped in 3rd gear at about 75-80MPH where I had almost a full car gap in between us! My adrenaline was flowing like crazy! I have always wanted to race a newer Camry V6 just to see how I'd fair, knowing that they are quick in their own right. I own a 2012 Rav4 Limited 3.5L 2wd and I know how much that thing hauls! I look over at them as I make my right turn at the next stop light and neither of them looked over! They probably didn't expect that, as a stock Accord V6 5AT would have lost, but mine isn't stock of course
Makes me want to run the 1/4 mile so bad with my mods. Thanks for reading!!
