Mazda 212 hp, Jetta 200hp, you are @ 258hp.

With a good launch you will beat them.

Why do I sense imminent danger to local drivers?

But he's heavier.

Mazda: 3309 lbs
Jetta: 3179 lbs
TL: 3582 lbs

Not sure who would win, but I'm just pointing out that HP isn't everything.

I don't think 300 pounds is enough to give them the edge when you're pushing 40 more HP at least.

amen. The rest of the public could care less whose car is faster. You being a teen def explains why you seem to even care about something so worthless. While youre at it why dont you see whose balls are bigger too...lol.

Can you guys just measure the size of your cranks and skip the race? At least that is more important than how fast a car is... at least one person will car about your crank size.

The only reason it really matters if your car is faster is for bragging rights. I personally could care less if my car is faster than someone else's.

What I do care about is that it's fast enough for me. Sure, faster might be better, but I'm quite satisfied with the power in my TL.

Everybody else seems to have pushed the whole and "young and reckless" speech your way already so I'll just give you an answer;

- You will pull on both cars if they're stock.

wa-la.

~300lbs on the Mazda will not cancel out the ~40hp/extra TQ the TL has.

The Jetta doesn't make enough power to really take advantage of it's weight advantage so that doesn't matter either.
