Accord 6spd vs. Cammed RSX

Accord 6spd vs. Cammed RSX - YouTube

Mods in vid. RSX is semi-built (no, it's not Yonkers). There are other runs on the channel as well. This was the 'cleanest' run, considering I got a late start on most of the other ones. He pulled me a car and a half. He made 225whp on the same dyno I made 235. I was on my lightweight 16s for these runs, and my DRs.

For some reason, my car 'bogged' just after 6 seconds. It's pretty noticeable. Not sure why, but it messed up the 1st gear run we tried to have, as well. There are other videos on that channel. Most of the other ones I started late, tbh. See descriptions in each vid.

That's a crazy strong RSX to be making within 10 whp of your Accord. I'd guess that's a 106 mph car!

Yea it's a fast car.

Someone suggested low oil causing this bogging issue, since the VTEC solenoid is based off oil pressure. Sure enough, I'm positive this is the problem because I'm wayy overdue for an oil change. Ugh. IMO, probably cost me 1/2 car. Regardless, it's obvious who had the faster car.

Are you actually low on oil or do you just have a lot of miles on it?

On a Dynojet I made 272. This particular dyno is a heartbreaker, where I made 235.

No, this dyno reads about 5-6% lower than a Mustang.

Btw, got an oil change and the hesitation @ VTEC stopped. Wish I could've done the runs over.

In terms of accuracy, I can't be sure. But a 3300+ lb car (with me in it) making 235whp probably wouldn't be running mid 13s. That's my opinion. I do enjoy the 235 though. It takes a car that not many people believe are quick anyway, and makes it sound even slower lol. Sleeper

His car made within 10whp of my car and weighs ~4-500lbs less, so it's no surprise he pulled me. I just wanted to see where my car stood, since it's definitely faster with the 16" wheel setup.

Graph estimation ^ , as he pulled a car length on you. Ask him to run 17's and try with you again since he has the gearing advantage, the stage 1 cams, and his power/weight ratio. I would bet it'll be a bit closer runs with your new oil change.

Damn bounce....look at you lol. Those gear ratios are definitely off though for the Accord, including the FD (3.285), but looks like you know that already.

The car doesn't hesitate after the change, so I'm sure it was that. I'm not saying the car is 'faster' because of the oil change, but without the hesitation it probably would've been a half car less. He pulled me more than a car, definitely a car and a half. He has videos, just waiting to see them.

Don't let the "Stage 1" fool you, they are pretty aggressive, and closer to most other Stage 2s. I'm sure you know that as well, bounce His car is fast though, no doubt. I will need to mod to keep up for sure.
