For All you 6MT'ers When It Comes Time To Change Your Clutch

It all started with the problem I had in this thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...-miles-926780/

Turns out, LUK tech support was right! I should have changed the flywheel when I last did a clutch at 180K miles The whole problem was flywheel slippage. It has to do with the way these dual-mass flywheels are designed. Turns out, the flywheel took out the clutch.
Here's my flywheel at 223K miles:

Here is the clutch I replaced 43K miles ago:

WHEN IT COMES TIME TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH, PUT A NEW FLYWHEEL IN TOO! The LUK (OEM) flywheel is only $209 from Rockauto, so why take a chance?

Warp Drive and gas mileage are restored!

Amazing, the Service Manual pretty much says the same thing:

"Resurfacing of the flywheel is not recommended"

Glad you got it fixed

Thank you so much for sharing this. When the time comes, I will definitely put in a new DMF....
