Western ny is a whole separate place, i graduated from school in december, and now i see a bunch of buffalo and rochester people more.

i live in western new york and would love a thread to detail how i just smoked a couple geeks in thier dads' turboed 2.0 jetta about 10 minutes ago. it was pretty bad...

yes, i own one of the few KBP tl-s's in WNY. if you see a KBP TL parked 100' away from everyone else and it's got a black interior and smoked windows, then it's most likely mine.

i was getting off the thruway coming back from rochester (big trip to get the wifey's 5th gen prelude outta storage) and 3 kids in a turboed jetta sped up behind me at the toll booth in depew. So after paying my toll, i pulled away with a little authority, and the echo of my exhaust must have stirred thier courage because they flew outta the toll booth after me. i get to the light at transit to turn right, and as i started to make the turn here comes the jetta in the wrong lane trying to make the same turn. so with a few slight corrections and some creative thinking i was able to box them in with the other surrounding cars. Now at this point i'm laughing to myself because they are reminding me of myself 14 years ago when i had my mustang and more balls than brains. so we get to the light at transit and gennessee and i unbox them and move into the inside lane so they can pull up next to me in the outside lane. they pull up, roll the window down and gesture to me to do the same. i follow suit, and as i roll the window down i say to him "i don't think that things got enough..." and he responds with "you'd be suprised what this little car can do". So i roll the window back up, turn the radio off, hit the traction control, throw it into manual 1 and get psyched as here comes the light.
3...2...1...green!

they take off instantly and i just sat there, waited for a split second until i saw their rear wheel, then rolled on the throttle lightly until i pinned it to the floor. i was past them before the first shift point and all i could hear was blow-off valves and gear changes coming from the jetta. needless to say i got half way into 2nd gear and was 2 lengths infront of them, so i slowed down to the speed limit and put her on cruise.

honestly, that jetta was faster than i was expecting. i bet with a boost in turbo pressure it'd make for a good match-up.

after everything, i got home and told the wifely of my little accomplishment and asked for a "reward" for my labors . she told me to ask the guy in the jetta , lol.

I used always see a few guys like bonez and and silver cl, but i graduated from buffalo, so i'm back home in the city. I'm actually visiting buffalo, the 24th.

 

yea ill be graduating from ub in another year and i rarely see anyone over there now maybe cause im never up on campus full time student and 40 plus hours of work means no time for seeing anything

hey guys tomorow 8thcivic have a small meet like 10 cars if any of you wanna show up the time is 7pm and the place is Right behind the old Don Pablos thats now a jeweler, in front of Panera. It's all in the plaza that has Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, K-Mart, Lowes, Applebees, etc., on the blvd. just south of the 290
