If your vehicle is damaged by a pothole, you can file a claim with the City of New York. Visit the New York City Comptroller's Web site and use the claim form (pdf) or call (212) 669-3500.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/pothole.shtml

submit the claim...

Shit! That's bad. How fast were you going? I was about to mention filing a claim like above. I think it has to be a pothole that hasn't been reported yet or some other odd stipulation but it doesn't hurt to try.

Gotta be careful now. The snow plow pulled up all the loose road or patches of road. The van-wyck is also messed up. DOT will be out after the winter season

OMG!! Dam man I feel your pain I hit 2 major pot holes in a matter of a couple days, one was on thrusday night on the belt parkway when it splits to cross island and brooklyn/queens and the other was today on the LIE right before the HOV lane begins. I dont know if I have any major damage, but the first one I hit I knew was bad, because right after I saw a line of cars pulled over. Im gonna get a wheel alignment soon, hopefully nothing is wrong. G/L with your claim, let us know the outcome.

Damn that sucks hardcore...I recently got a bubble in my tire going over a pothole left by one of the snow plowers. There was a recent survey done and NYC has the worst infrastructure in the continental United States. This ranges from side streets to highways to bridges. Dont think those dipshts in Albany will fix this anytime soon. Just LOOK at the BQE. That sht has been under construction for the past 10-15 years already.

When the weather if good the Cross Bronx is still messed up. I think NYDOT does that shit on purpose so people don't speed. Like how long has the mill basin draw bridge area on the belt been messed up. And with them doing the construction it got worse, WTF

It can't be just the rims I hit a pothole so hard it bent my aspec strut along with the pillow mount and the rim cracked off on the side.

chalk another rim up to being bent

BQE vs Aspec rim and tire....... and the winner is the BQE!!

I bent mine yesterday right after you get on the BQE from the Triboro in the left lane when you start to go uphill actually after the underpass where Boluva is. This was a crater not a pothole. It got me and 4 other cars including a pick-up truck. I downloaded that form and I'm putting a claim in as soon as I get a new rim which should be tomorrow.
