I got pulled over just for tints today. First time that has ever happened that I got stopped for tints only (I have 20%). The cop wrote me up two separate tickets, one for the driver window, and another for the passenger window. Why did he write two separate tickets?

you got lucky ,a fagget cop gave me 4 tickets for my front and rear as well , he said if i dont remove them the next time he would give me 5 o_O , one more for the rear view window, i took em off and went to the dmv , and i got 2 dismissed because i said i didnt know the rears could be that dark

ended up getting a reduction on the fronts and had to pay $5 for each of the 2 front tickets and and $50 surcharge each total of $110, now i have no tints =(

 

i have an eye doctors note saying I am sensitive to light and I need (kinda) dark tints....if i get pulled over i show the note to the cop, but if he still gives me a ticket i show that in court and the ticket gets dismissed....

its not the right approach but i like having tints.....

i took pics of my car without the tints before i had it installed whenever i got tickets i used to just take those pics in and leave on the tints , but the surcharges kept adding up so i just removed them completely after that fag cop gave me 4

 

How do you get a ticket for the rear windows? Arent you allowed whatever you want on the rear?

Nevermind, I just found out that by back window it means your rear view window. I thought it meant the side windows for the back seats. I just read online that in NY, all 4 side windows can be 70% or lighter (pointless). I thought you could go as dark as you wanted for the back side windows?

 

it would be $50 surcharge for each , so you min is $100 , the judge may gave you $0 fine if you remove it, some may gave you $5 or $20 or w/e they decide, but i think the ticket is $90 for equipment tickets but if you remove it and see the judge for the reduction , it would be less

 

Last time I got pulled over for window tint I showed the cop my note from the doctor... He told me to wear sunglasses and that way I wouldn't need the tint.

After I looked into it further I found that there are only three conditions that warrant tinted windows (of which I don't have).

Oh well... Whether we like it or not, Cops are just doing their jobs. I would probably shit my pants walking up to cars with tinted windows always wondering if they had a gun or something.... just sayin

I threw the paper out but one had to do with a condition where the skin is sensitive to light, another had to deal with a medication interaction of some sort. I wish I could remember what they were. My doctor is a friend of mine and he said that he couldn't justify him filling out the paper work. I'm sure i could probably find the forms online. As far A's I know, NY changed these requirements in 2007 (but don't quote me on that).

I still have the note for light induced migraines that he wrote me 6 years ago

 

^^^ see the eye thing is right....i have been asked to wear sunglasses but in court the dismiss it....if you have a note (from a dermatologist) that you develop skin rashes under heavy sun....this note could save you 110% of the times....coz the cop cant ask u to wear long sleeves in summer....and a mask.....

again am in Kansas but my tags are Missouri and hence i tell the cop am here on business and these tints are legal in Missouri (i lie)....they cant really expect u the rip the tints off every time you get in Kansas....so the note and out of state tags save my ass most of the times....

back when i was in Missouri, I used to carry 35% tints in the trunk and tell the cop "i got pulled over couple days back and the cop let me off without a ticket and asked me to fix it....i have the tints in my trunk and am driving to the dealership right now to get it fixed"....i used to pop the trunk and have him take a look at it....this has saved my ass few times....but not as often....

 

i have 20% tint and its been on for over 2 years. not 1 problem with any cops busting my balls. because if i get pulled over, i put all the windows down, and turn the inside lights on. then throw pba cards at him

but seriously, just lower ur windows so they can see in, and turn the light on. they will appreciate it

 

^^^ when u see the cop in the neighborhood just pull ur sunroof shade....lets the light in....makes the tints look lighter....and once pulled over...all windows down as greco said....

Severe drug photo-sensitivity

 

Cops make tints illegal because they are scared to go up and give a ticket, but they LOVE pulling me over for them..I don't get it...Oh well. Now I got a family FOP, and boy does that work although I am done with the teenage nuisance of speeding everywhere and being a jerk.

btw one of my good buddies is a state trooper out here, and the stuff he tells me is insane. try patrolling a highway by urself in the middle of the night, and ur closest backup is several minutes away

 

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. Stopped at a traffic light on Northern blvd and pulled up next to a cop on the left lane. At the time it was pouring rain, light turns green and I gingerly stepped on the gas and 3 seconds later flashing lights emit and i was instructed to pull over. Cop wipes my windows and placed the light meter and handed me two tickets for having 28% tints. I plead not guilty and I'm waiting for my court date. What a son of a b.

 

if I had to do that...I would have my shot gun drawn ALL THE TIME! HA!

I can respect the cops but some just go a little over board.

 

too bad all they have access to is the 9mm. they dont even have tasers, which is ridiculous, only batons.

but when i get pulled over, all i do it relax windows down, lights on, keys on top of roof, and both hands on steering wheel... after that is all cake =) they see how u respect them... im sick of my 35% in front doors... thinkin on addin my 5% back on bruahahahaha

This happens to me like atleast 3 to 4x a month. Rarely get tickets for them, but I hav gotten a few, because I play the MD card and they let me slide. LOL

I have that form for the light sensitivity thing laying around.. too lazy to fill it out and mail it in.

Atleast here in NJ, we only get one ticket not one for each window.

 

i got 1 ticket each on 2 seperate occasions, one time was my fault the cop was even cool about it hes like yo im just gonna give u a tint ticket dont drive like a jerk(it was like 5 am and I passed on the left a car but i went through a turning lane, second time a quota piggie got me on a sat morning sitting in a parking lot and got me while i was stopped at the light in front, he was a j-o.
