OOOOOH
Sept. 25th
CT ppl... say you leave Hartford/wherever at 8am, we'd be cruising by 10 at the latest, and you'd be home by 5pm, I reckon.
Hell, if it's 2 or 3 cars, I'm def in. Just means we'd be able to stay together better and attract less attention.
I don't want to make it difficult for those that really want to come either. It's tough to make it work, I researched the BEST scenic/driving roads in Mass/VT for weeks.... but you can only get so many of them to connect in with each other.
Unfortunately, most of them are up further in VT which isn't reasonable for any of us, lol.

hey guys...quick question...getting multi answers.
So my car has a wierd noise when riding coming from the front my mech says i need a wheel alignment...and i agree what I want to ask you guys is - Is a camber kit necessary? I honestly dont care for these tires they are about 75-80 % of the meat still there but there coming off for the winter so my main concern is the ride it self. Will a good wheel alignment end the sound and fix my ride or is it a MUST i get a camber kit (front and rear) in order to correct my issue?
Please advise asap...I would like to take the car today to get fixed.

^^ Front, definitely no. Rear, optional. I'm running -3.1* in the rear without a camber kit. Just make sure you get an alignment and the TOE is zero'd out. That's the important part.
But I'm not sure that will solve a noise..... waht kind of noise? Could be the wheel balance too.

Camber isn't going to create any noises or vibrations. The one adjustment you need to really worry about after you lower your car is the toe angle.
What kind of noise is it that you're hearing? Unless your toe is WAY out of whack and your tires are scalloped or have flat spots, I doubt the noise you're hearing has anything to do with your alignment.
EDIT....I'm at -3* in the rear and I have no issues.

its more of a vibrations...it may be the balance.
My tires are worn on the inside more...
I work close to about 5 Mavis's might take it there or if anyone knows a good place in Westchester County I'm open to suggestion.

LOL, yeahhh...... So I used to have the clicking noises when turning at low speeds (esp. when cold). After reading up, seemed like a pretty common occurence, not necessarily meanign the cv-joints or axles were bad. Somehow, it just went away all of a sudden and haven't heard it for a long time....
I now have the drivetrain vibration under load, however. It's only in lower rpms. Hadn't narrowed it down to axles yet... I'd like to confirm with one of you that we have the same issue, haha. I've also thought about it having to do with being so low, that it screwed up the geometry a little too much with the axles/cv's.
I know it's not the clutch (thankfully)... because when i put it up to 5th/6th and step on it, it's still smooth and the revs slowly increase as they should with the car speed.

yeah so i went to Mavis and after waiting for about 40 mins dude and I go for a test drive and he says its my wheel bearing. I was gonna have them do it but the price was insane. I'll do it myself...it'll take me a lil longer but way cheaper...or i'll get my mech friend to do it.
it'll cost me the part, some beer and pizza pie...cant beat that

axles confirmed. I have the same issue. the axles are just at an awkward angle with the drop. When I raised up the front end of the car, the vibrations were alleviated a bit. A drop will also wear out the cv joints prematurely, leading to the clicking. Seems to only be when they are cold though. I remember mine clicked when it was cold out before i was dropped.

Cool.....
So Justin, Steve, keep me in the loop if either of you end up replacing axles or cv's. I wanna hear your experience.

i have had the axles for a while now, havent gotten around to installing them since it doesnt bother me that much. It was a b*tch to find one of the sides. forgot which one. if you need one let me know, I'll try to get mine installed so you can have mine refurbed (unless you want to pay Acura's price).
