Car Broken Into.... Help Needed

My car was broken into last night. The thief smashed the rear driver side window and stole my GPS which was in the glove box (I know I should have locked it). My insurance company GEICO is covering the glass damage so I have zero out of pocket expenses. However, the earliest appointment they have is for Thursday March 4th 2010. They told me if I am able to find a place to fix it earlier, they would cover the cost of the expenses.

Does anybody here know of a place that can fix it ASAP, meaning today?? I only want Acura OEM glass and I'm located in Yonkers, NY.

For a broken side window, and if using an aftermarket shop like Carstar or PPG, you likely won't get OEM Acura glass- in reality, it's all made the same way, and I wouldn't predict optical distortion on a side window. I'm pretty sure the OEM replacement glass should be just as good as Acura brand (when they build the car, I suspect the individual components, like the windows are manufactured by subcontracting companies and not made by Acura, even if they have the Acura/ Honda stamp on them).

You're right, but I put a lot of hard work into buying my car and maintaining it, not to mention the years in school to get a job to actually afford a TL. I am passionate about my car and the piece of mind of having the ACURA stamp on it gives me piece of mind.

True that the glass is most likely not made by Acura but contracted out to someone else. BUT, it is made to Acura specs. Aftermarket specs may be subpar when compared to Acura specs.

UPDATE:

I'm brining my car in tomorrow morning to an Auto glass place covered and recommended by GEICO. They're putting in aftermarket glass. I asked politely numerous times for to use OEM Acura glass but "my policy" states that I am covered for aftermarket glass. Sucks, but what I am supposed to do. They only way they would put OEM glass would be if I made up the difference between OEM and aftermaket. Sucks, but what am I supposed to do??

that sucks. I wouldn't want aftermarket glass.

I thought, by law, you are allowed to bring your car to any shop under insurance coverage. If you take to dealer, they will supply Acura parts only, I think.

I'm taking my car to the dealer tomorrow morning. We'll see where it goes from there.
