4/17/11 Car Problems in Hempstead NY Fellow aziners need your help

I am in New York visiting some relatives and my car suddenly was on limp mode. I live in VA so is about 300 mile to get home. I have a 2005 Acura TL with 97k miles on. I have done plenty of research in Azine and contact some smart car techs and they all point to the accelerator postion sensor (APP). Some people might know it as TPS. I have found the part number (39791-RBB-003). One of the problems that I have is that is Sunday and all Acura Dealerships parts department are closed today. So by any chance does anyone have in the NY area a APP sensor. I am going to try checking the local junk yards in Amityville NY that is were I am staying. Thanks everyone for your help.

Try checking the auto part stores too you never know they might have it unless it's a dealer only part. Good Luck!

Thank you for your suggestion, I actually check all local auto parts store and all the junk yards in Queens NY across the Mets Stadium and no luck. The major problem that is was Sunday and lots of places were closed for the day. On Monday morning I contact the local Acura dealership and I was able to find the part in Smith town Acura. The part number is (37971-RBB-003) I had it wrong in the first post. I want to thank azine for the information on this common problem for the 3G Tl. I am surprise there is no recall on it. Clearlly Queens NY has the biggest potholes I have seen in my life, they were minature pools lol.
