Mechanic Near Bellevue, WA

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy shop near Bellevue?
It's time for my 02 TL-S to get the timing belt replaced, valves adjusted, and a front motor mount replaced. I go to UW, so near there is okay also. Thanks.

FYI, I got quotes on these services while at Acura of Bellevue, they want:
  • $1181 - timing belt, water pump, including all belts and tensioners.
  • $460 - valve adjustment (supposedly a valve adjustment is included in the 105k service for $955, which strangely doesn't include the timing belt or water pump replacement.)
  • $460 - replace front mount.
  • $390 - clear EGR ports.

Rob is right, Acura of Lynnwood will for sure beat Bellevues prices, I have compared the two before and Lynnwood beats just about every Acura dealer in the greater Seattle area, hands down.

A good friend of mine recommended Jon @ http://www.autopromaplevalley.com/ He got his timing belt and water pump done on his 03 Lexus IS300 for $400 12months/12k miles warranty. He had it done last year and still no issues He quoted me $400 as well for timing belt, water pump (life time warranty) and all drive belts. To check the valve adjustment it would cost $95 and additional $37 to do the valve adjustment. I have not made an appt yet, but based on the price and referral I might have to check this place out.

I would also recommend Jon! I just got my belts, wp, and timing belt done by him. Although, when he did the maintnance and messed up my power steering pump, he's taking full responsibility and replacing it for me without charge. I will go back for further maintance from him later on!

How much did he charge you? Did he change out any other belts (tensionor) or seals?

Other than messing up the power steering pump, how long did it take him to perform the service?

This is a follow up to my original post.

I got quotes from my local dealership, three local independant mechanics all with high marks on places like yelp and car talk, and a quote from our forum sponsor Acura of Lynnwood.

I ended up at Acura of Lynnwood. With the discount they give aziners no one quoted lower prices than them. They did the timing belt etc, valve adjustment, front motor mount, and egr cleaning.

Yeah, it still cost a lot and I would have loved to have done the work myself, but there is no way within the next year I'll be able to get the time to do it. According to them the teeth on the timing belt were beginning to crack. After driving this car nine years, and wanting to drive it another nine, I figured it's time to quit delaying and get the work done.
