Gonna take the plunge, heh? I was so close in ordering one online before I decided to go with just the tips. It was the cheaper option, and with two kids in diapers, you can imagine where a lot of my income goes. Someday I may upgrade. The tips really don't look all that bad with the base A-Spec, so its a great temporary solution.

As mentioned earlier, my next mod will probably be the black vinyl roof overlay. I just can't get myself to have it painted, even though the piece of mind of not having to maintain the vinyl makes it the best option. It's going to have to be done in two stages. I'll need to set some money aside to pick-up a NBP XM antenna, so I'll be rollin' with a black roof and a WDP pimple ("whitehead" ) for a few months. Fortunately, I really don't think it looks tremendously horrible. I kind of like the contrast. But I want the job done right, and there is no way I'm going to paint just that piece if I'm not going to go all the way and paint the entire roof.

I'm looking forward to seeing your new set-up.

I'm debating on maybe adding a roof spoiler later on this year when I have some more funds available. I'm wondering if that would fit well with the black roof, or if I'm going a bit overboard? Don't want that...

I think you should def add a roof spoiler, if I only had a lip spoiler instead of the wing spoiler I'd get one. I was going to get the type s lip, but the dealer drilled holes in this one = (
And yeah, I picked up an acutal car, not just a bumper haha. I miss it, but theres definitely torque steer in the type s....

I just need to find something that won't break my pocketbook. Then I need to figure out if I'm going to have it painted black or white.

I can imagine what a 40+HP increase would do. I have encountered some rather dangerous torque steer just driving my car a little spirited around the twisties. I miss my RWD cars of the past.

So, I've decided not to put up pics of my updated ride anymore. You guys will just have to wait and see it at the meet. Which brings up my 2nd point, when is the next meet? I haven't been to one for a while, so we need to plan on ASAP! The incentive can be that you guys can see my car haha

It's about 30 HP more I think, but I dont experience torque steer in mine really... my problem with RWD cars is I always used to fishtail in our g35 coupe, but then again I was only 14 when I used to drive it so I was a little inexperienced...

lol... I like losing the rear-end out from underneath me. Not so much in a heavier car, since inertia usually took over and I'd more often than not end up facing the wrong direction. But the Miata was pretty controllable under most conditions. I have nuthin' but praise for the suspension and handling characteristics of that car.

You're right. I was thinking of the UA8 SH-AWD, which is advertised as having a 305-HP motor. The UA7 TL-S had 28 more horsies than the base model.

Timing belt, water pump, tensioner, drive belts, spark plugs and valve adjustment will cost you about $1200. The power steering pump is probably another $500, if not more.

How many miles will the 3G have on it?

you can push it a little. It was 8.5 years before I changed mine and you know that fstyms1 always said that time is a bigger factor then mileage

$1200 is about right if he had it done at a Honda dealer.

I remember Niello and Elk Grove Acura quoting around $1500.
