LF good/reliable mechanic - Bay Area

Hi everyone,

I am in search of a reliable mechanic/shop who can take care of my 05' TL. I'm @ 107k miles now and it is about time for the recommended maintenance. I've also noticed a slightly rough idle and am thinking the valves are a bit tight and need to be adjusted. While these issues are only for the moment, I'm looking for a place that I can trust to service the car as time goes on.

I noticed in several other threads, people have recommended Winston from Monterey Auto Tech 1. I live in Pleasanton, and while 40 min is not a huge deal, I am not sure I will always be able to make it down there... I may just have to take a drive on down and check it out. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

i live in san leandro and i make the drive down to Winston for about the past 2 years now..its not a bad drive, he's reasonable and does great service! i don't take my car anywhere else seriously. i usually schedule my appointments in the morning so that i can beat the traffic and depending on what service you get done i try to get out of san jose by 2 so that i beat the afternoon traffic. if you go down to Winston tell him Brandon or Chris sent you.

if you don't want to take that far of a drive there's Castro Valley Autohaus. i know one of the guys down there and they do good work. Ask for Joel and tell him that Brandon from Kraski's sent you down there. http://www.castrovalleyautohaus.com/Site_2/Welcome.html

Or, you can also consider my neighbor who does side jobs at his house. He's an Acura Tech at Los Gatos Acura. Either way, you can't go wrong...just let us know...

Hey guys, thanks for the reply's. I think I will check winston out at some point. I have a buddy who's been doing work on several of my car's for quite a time now... I trust him a lot... he's just getting older and slower. He's been telling me to find new shops and meet new people to connect with, so thanks for the info.
