hi, new guy here, name is Ali. i've had my 2005 Acura TL since 2009. never had an issue until now. I've been snooping around looking and seeing if the transmission issues are common on this thing. Unfortunately, it is. Information on this forum seem to be very helpful. I've had the red ring of death(DTC: P0741) for my transmission quite some time now. I've added a transmission cooler and it seem to be
holding up. been 2500 miles and it hasnt slip ever since, but according to my data(been recording data on my scanner ever since) i need to a new transmission, I'm going to rock this thing until it stops going.
With this cooler, it dropped 45 degrees. I'm talking about stop and go traffic and driving all the way from san francisco to oakland in 80 degree weather. ANYWAYS, i'm going off about my car issues rather than
introducing myself. I'm a technican at a Lexus dealer in the bay area. Been at a Toyota dealer for 6 years. Needed a new change. i wanted to work for a luxury dealer and see what the fuss is about.. and may i say... Lexus is not your average Toyota. People who say Lexus is just a fancy Toyota... its not....nowhere near close. Why am i talking about this... its an Acura forum =). So, i hope this forum will give me more information about my Acura... and i noticed what people complain about their Acura, its starting to happen to mine. lol. This forum is very helpful when ALLDATA and factory information becomes vague, or if the repair itself its just too god damn expensive..
