New to Posting - Couple of 3rd Gens

Hey all,

I made this account in 2016 and have used these forums as a great source of information on my 07 TL over the years.

On Friday, I bought a 3rd gen RDX and plan to spend more time on the forums. I've been lurking for the past 6 months or so while I searched for the one that I wanted. Was originally shopping for a Q5 but after test driving an RDX on a whim last summer, combined with the great experience I've had with my TL, I knew this was my next car.

TL is a base auto with nav, 175k miles, just had the timing belt and related work done for the second time, the first was at 105k. I had more mods planned for it but kept it stock as an excellent daily driver and road tripper over the years. Only mod is the trailer hitch so I can tow my motorcycles around.

RDX is a '21 Advance with 48k miles and I added the top AcuraCare plan (5year/120kmiles/0 deductible). No major plans for it other than I need to add the hitch receiver for it. I like the look of the OEM Hitch receiver the best but the cost vs aftermarket options is hard to swallow. Also not wanting to lose the HFA. Might hold off for some time to see if any better aftermarket options come out that tuck up into the bumper like OEM.

Welcome to Acurazine. Congrats on the new ride. What's the experience of moving from a sedan to an SUV like?

I'm only 3 days deep into ownership but so far I love the ride height. My eyes are very sensitive to lights at night so not having oncoming traffic blinding me is a plus. I've had trucks in the past and the RDX hits all the utility of a bigger vehicle that I need without too much compromise on performance. I'm actually very curious to put the TL against the RDX and see how they are side by side. RDX is heavier but the 10spd trans shifts quickly and is geared pretty aggressively.

I also feel more noticed. When driving in the highway, it seems like slower people in the passing lane are better about moving over for me than when I'm in the TL. Did 750 miles in it yesterday so I felt like I'm pretty acquainted with it.

The tech between 2007 and 2021 is drastic.

This morning I ordered an idlestopper, splash guards, AA wireless, and a red tint overlay for the taillights. One day I will do ktuner and phearable stage 2 or 3 tune but I have a warranty right now and don't want to risk voiding it.

So far so good, but taking a little longer than I'd like to get the registration and plates.

The deal itself was really smooth and I felt like I had a good team I was working with between the sales and finance dept.

I had a terrible experience with Pohanka so I was on a mission to buy somewhere else.
