Greetings. Nissan guy who's made the switch after previous stints in an Altima & Crew Cab Frontier. After 13 years & 140,000 miles, decided it was time to for something new.
Initial search zeroed in on the RDX, Lexus NX & Infiniti QX70 or 50. After checking out all 4 and some test drives, decided the RDX best met my needs & what I was looking for.
If if you're in Houston, got my 2017 RDX Tech in Modern Metallic Steel (with Ebony interior) from Gillman Acura. So far, have added fog lights, moonroof visor, advance running boards, lower door chrome trim, and splash guards.
My next plans are for wheels - I'm thinking of keeping 18" size with a machine polished finish with black contrast finish but I'm kind of open on design.
Have also seen some ads for WellVisors, which would maintain the chrome finish around the windows after visors are installed - unsure on this. May go without. Anyone have any experience with these visors?
One last note: Upon leaving the dealership today, I saw my old truck being reconditioned for the sales lot. Will miss this ride.
I'm curious what you were doing with the torch I see in your photo?
I see your Texas plate - the other day, for the first time, I became really jealous of people living in some parts of Texas - I read that they increased the speed limit to 85!

That is a gooooood looking suv, Might have to tell my wife about this.
Thanks. Might wanna hurry though. New RDX prototype to be unveiled at NAIAS on 1/15 and I’m thinking Acura will drop the V6 for a Turbo 4 to match others in this segment. The V6 is one factor of why I chose the RDX over the NX.
Just scrolled thru all the pics, and that is a VERY nice ride! Did the calipers come painted red? It looks really good. Also like your new wheels. I have the OEM wheels on my '13 RDX, and am thinking about trading them out since they are damaged and bubbling. So I was curious why you did not choose Acura wheels when you upgraded.

Thanks for the compliments
1. Painted the calipers
2. I wanted something black and chrome to fit with the design and colors of the vehicle.
I saw some black/chrome Acura wheels for 2Gen RDX but I was sticker shocked. I might just consider getting my OEM wheels refurbished, and save a little money to invest in new tires soon.
I’ve previously dipped my grill but now handling the beak another way: Total removal.
If you’ve followed the #DeleteTheBeak hashtag on IG, you’ve seen a number of TLX’s with a grill swap to the current design. Got one done for the RDX 2GEN, I believe it’s his first one. While he wasn’t able to do the swap to include the current grill insert design, I choose the insert to be of a hexagonal mesh pattern that resembles the mesh pattern on the faux air vents. Will ship today and install soon.

New custom front splitter and center lip. Props to S_Factor_Fabrication for their work on this piece. I was their first customer for the 2nd Gen model and had to do measurements and drawings for this project. The results were spot on. All together, $345 for the below pictured.
I'm new here also just picked up a CPO 2019 MDX tech package. After 4 Infiniti's 06 G35x, 08 G35xs 10 G37x and 15 Q50. only had MDX a few days before going on vacation but I like it so far. No time for pictures yet
