New guy from Canada

Hey all,

I just picked up my first Acura, a 2014 TL with the Elite package. It is a one owner with 97,000kms on it and it’s in overall pretty nice shape. I have it scheduled to get a timing belt service and other routine maintenance next week as it’s approaching 100,000kms. I paid $17,500CAD which I feel is a pretty decent price considering the used market right now…

Here are a few photos. There are a couple things I would like to get sorted on it, but so far I’m enjoying it!

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to Acurazine. You have, what I believe to be, the best overall daily driver for the price point. I've purchased three different 4G SH-AWD's in the past year. I eventually want to own an Advance/Elite at some point as well.

Thanks, I have read through your thread on the adventures of buying your 3 TLs and now your IS-F. Very cool! I’m really enjoying the car so far, it’s definitely the most luxurious vehicle I’ve ever owned. I came from an ‘09 G37x, and while the G37 seemed quicker, the TL is better in almost every other way. I’ve spent the past couple days detailing the vehicle, chipping away at the past decade plus of dirt and neglect.

Will you keep your car in stock form?
Do the headlight washers work well? I haven't encountered a Canadian model in person yet to experience them.
Are the ventilated seats adequate? They're the feature I desire the most from the Advance/Elite model.
Have you pushed the car yet to experience the thrill of SH-AWD?

I do intend on keeping it stock, my “modding” days are kinda behind me with cars (motorcycles are another story). The headlight washers work pretty well, I haven’t really had a chance to test them out but they work.
I find the ventilated seats…odd at first. I expected the “wet pants” feeling and these don’t give you that. I believe that’s by design, as newer “cooled seats” might have some sort of air conditioning system built into the seat. The TL ventilated seats only draw air from the seat bottom and back and so just keep the sweat off your back. Once a person realizes this is how it’s supposed to work with this system, I’d say they do a good job of it.
I haven’t had a chance to push the car outside of normal driving and a few WOT pulls, but it seems to drive very nice.
Today I am trying to finish up the interior detail (light coloured leather gets DISGUSTING &#129326 and will probably start working on bits of the exterior tomorrow or later in the week
