I have a question about some accord hybrid aluminum rims i was going to put on our 2012 tsx. Is it safe to powder coat them?

^call some local powdercoaters and ask if they can powdercoat aluminium wheels.
THATS the only STRAIGHT answer you'll get.....as most of us here arent powder coaters and cant give you an exact answer.

OR....

you could just google...."is it safe to powdercoat aluminium wheels?"

I am pretty sure any power coating shop will be able to power coat them at least around here they will.

Right, but he's asking if its safe!
one would need to know the specific properties of aluminium and the powdercoating process.
I believe in order to powdercoat, you have to heat up the wheel. not sure, so dont quote me, and thus why I'm asking the OP to call some local places to and ask!

you wouldnt want to go to a "backyard dentist" would you?
I mean, sure the back yard dentist knows general shit, but does he know specific processes?
probably not and I would not go to a back yard dentist....

I googled it before coming here and they have mixed reviews 50/50 said yes and no to damaging rims. Some say aluminum is weakened when heating to 200 degrees for 30 min.
