New to all this

So i decided i wanted to get a car for some better gas mileage and something i could do some tasteful mods on. I stumbled across a bone stock 1999 CL 2.3 with a manual trans. So I picked it up for a hell of a deal. So now I am starting the long process of making the decisions on what i want to do with it. If anyone has any suggestions, tips or tricks feel free to let me know.
