Hey everyone!
I just bought the ILX 2021 A-Spec out of the dealership. Ofcourse I'm paying it monthly but still my first big purchase as an adult. I'm a "dabbling enthusiast" and would love to know more about what I can do to this car. I was debating between this car and the WRX but decided to go for the ILX since it's gonna be my daily, and driving stick in LA traffic is 1 a pain, and 2 the roads are trash anyway. Additionally, everyone and their mom's have a WRX. The ILX caught my eye as a daily friendly, and more of a "luxury" car than a fun little sports car, but I can definitely see potential in the car. I hope to find wisdom and advice in this forum and would love to talk and maybe even give some tiny insights on things.

 

wise choice. LA roads suck! i see plenty of Cali cars with worn out suspension before long, but in states with flat and nice roads (like Oregon or Idaho), they can last like 10 years without issues! anyway, i do like the ILX aspec and don't see many at all on the road! i had the very first ILX 6 speed back in 2013, but the look was atrocious and it didnt have any tech (didn't have upgraded options with 6 speeds), so it wasn't long before I went back into a TL Type S and TSX. anyway, you'll def enjoy the nice gas mileage that the ILX has. i averaged 34-35 mpg with mine

 

use premium fuel to get the best fuel mileage...
if you use regular, you will not get the best performance and fuel mileage.
