I owned a 96 Integra show car for over 17 years before selling in 2017. I helped my son purchase his first car the other day, and we got him a 2006 Acura TSX. Even though I might have been on the site years ago, decided to come back and discuss the car. Advice is always nice.

I purchased a 5AT 06 TSX Aspec new and handed it down to my son for his first H.S. car in 2014. He drove it in college until it was T-boned and totaled by a red light runner in 2018. Very consistent performance, mpgs, and handling until being totaled at +175,000 miles. It had common issues like 2 alternators, leaky P/S pump/rack, A/C compressor, suspension wear/tear, etc... Another option would be a 07-12 RDX. It won't get the mpgs like the TSX; but, it has sh-awd, power, and space for 4 the TSX was missing.
