Hello, 05 TL AT Owner Here

Hello everyone, after all of the times of searching acurazine for solutions to the issues on my TL, I have finally decided to create an account and join the community. I have a 2005 TL AT Base w/Nav in anthracite metallic and at the time of this post, has close to 96,800 miles on it (Bought it at 84,000 miles). This is my first car and I really enjoy it, after learning how to drive with my parent's cars one being an old Chevy Tahoe and another being a GMC Sierra, I made the decision that I wanted something fun to drive, something smaller and more sporty and is how I came across the TL. I have only done a few mods to it including an eBay short ram, plastidipped the rear emblems/logos and front grille, rear muffler delete, and a 12 inch sub in the trunk. I absolutely love the sound of that J32A3 especially when the VTEC kicks in yo. I am also taking this car as a learning experience to learn how to work on cars and have so far been having a lot of fun and success doing so. I do tend to drive it hard sometimes and I worry about the longevity of the 5AT but hopefully that won't be an issue for awhile.

Welcome to Acurazine! You have a tremendously adequate first car. I hope you can cherish and appreciate it.

Yeah, I am hoping I can keep it nice, it's gotten the usual small amounts of daily driver damage on the bumpers but those can always be replaced/repaired.

Best of Luck!!!
That's the same as my first Acura, i bought it new in 2005 and drive it to 112,000, unfortunately being in NYC beat it up a bit too much and I had to switch.
Keep giving it love and it'll give it back, it was such a good car.

Welcome!

I'd suggest replacing the 3rd/4th gear pressure switches, if you haven't already. There was some fantastic sleuthing completed and documented here years ago that goes into why these should be replaced on the 3G TL automatic transmissions. I hope that cures some of your woes! I did them on my 2004 TL when I first bought it and had no issues in the 100k miles I put on the car.
