Wow my first post on this 6 year old profile. Allow me to introduce myself. Name's Jon and I live around Baltimore.

I am the second owner of an NBP '08 TL Type-S A/T, purchased at 18,800 miles in 2010. I've clocked over 120k of my own since. She's treated me very well, saved me a few times, and have not had a single major repair or any wrecks other than a brush up and love tap on the front bumper. Swapped in the M/T A-spec suspension around 80k miles and A-spec smoke chrome 18'' wheels. Love the minor drop and stiffer handling.

I have always had a friend or two working at an NTB to get good service discounts until 2 years ago. So I started consulting these boards for minor jobs like replacing my side view mirror or researching A-spec part numbers.

Many Thanks to ALL the members who contributed GOOD and also well-meaning but incorrect info on these forums for so many years now.

I started restoring and turbo charging an N/A 01 forester with a buddy and that really launched me into learning about cars/safety/procedure/master haggling over used parts... It's going on 2 years and still not close to done but plan to finish this year.

Thanks to all the info posted, just these recent weeks I have done a lot and plan to do more and contribute as needs arise.

Completed projects include: front and rear pads, rotors, e-brake adjustment, and reconditioned rear calipers with new booties. Oil changes, intake filters, cabin filters, o2 sensors, and intake snorkle from airbox. Also disconnected my bluetooth receiver draining my damn battery for a year before I read solution here.
Upcoming projects: figure out this front passenger side creaking and knocking. Thinking I probably need new front lower bar bearings and endlinks but also saw where it might be an engine mount. Finally swap in an exhaust and other perf mods.

Moral of this book is that I have saved a lot of money and love working on my car in a safe environment. Rock on.
