Roll Call: 2006 USGP @ Indy
Alright - who's going?
I was 50/50 but today I decided to go. Why, you may ask. Because of the San Marino race. Damn was it a good race. Made me really wanna see em again.
This year I think I will be spending the whole weekend there - leaving Friday night, coming back Sunday night. So are you going? Do I have to ask? Maybe we can meet up this year somewhere downtown.
Anyone else?

highly doubtful--I'm still pissed off about last year's race though I know it wasn't Tony G's fault.

Cool I guess we got a few ppl going then. Any interest in a get together somewhere in Indy Saturday night? Maybe a restaurant or something?
Yeah last year's happenings did leave a bitter taste in my mouth - which is why I was set on not going this year. But you know how things can change as dates approach. :P

After last year, I'm not wasting my money again. I'm not that hellbent. I'm just not looking forward to dropping that cash again in case this shit comes up for a second time.

Hell no ... I lost too much cash in just travel expenses last year. Sorry, I am still bitter. Downloads and the TV are enough for me this year.

Day 1 was pretty fun. Went to the pit walk about. the V8s sound a little different in the garages than i remember the 10s sounding like. Renault had some cute chicks in the pit dancing to music and stuff and watching some guys beat teh crap out of the Benz pace car was probably the highlight . Oh and we opened up out envelope with the tickets today (didnt do it sooner and dont know why) and they sent us 2 extra tickets for free . Got this years tickets free after last years debacle)

You buy a GA ticket outside if you are not charging it from people right outside the main gate. Used to be $50 for Sat/Sun. This ticket gets you EVERYWHERE incl. grandstands both days. Awesome deal.

Ferrari 1, 2.
Talk about lots of cars not finishing the race,......geez. It was nice to see Trulli snag 4th, and Toro Rosso got their first point. Heidfeld had a somewhat spectacular crash in that big accident too. Rubens managed 6th, which isnt too bad.

Steve, WTF are you doing up at 4 a.m.? Good article btw and I was thinking yesterday, you have to get to Indy someday, it's awesome. This year's race didn't do much for me but quali did and that's why I usually like it more than the race.

Ibwrong: the Indy stewards are taking no action after having spoken to the drivers involved in the Turn 1 multi-car crash.

I don't know what I'm talking about, but what's the deal with the engine freeze? All but Ferrari seem to want development..which is convienient since Ferrari apparently has the winningest engines. Without engine development, isn't the next 4 years of F1 already set? What's the point? Honda needs to get into NASCAR

Its funny you mention Indy Scott. After the race yesterday I was actually thinking about maybe making it down there next summer.
