I was sitting in the Jack Daniels Club with Dylan Murry's mother, Trudy and asked her if Dylan had finished qualifying could he come over and speak to the members which she told him to do and he did. Great guy, I hope he goes far. Our friend, Scott who took us to Montreal in his jet 2015 is here with his back to camera in Jumbo polo handing out congrats to the team.

Porsche has a celebrated history in endurance racing and looks to add to its legacy with its newest race car, the Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) prototype. Set to compete for Porsche Penske Motorsport in the 2023 race season, the 963 LMDh will run in the FIA World Endurance Championship—including the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans—and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Porsche’s new 963 LMDh race car is set to compete for Porsche Penske Motorsport in 2023. Porsche
With a combination of spec and custom elements, the LMDh class creates a single set of specifications across racing series, making it more affordable and more efficient for manufacturers to run. Spec elements include the chassis, battery, electric motor and gearbox, while each team is free to develop its own internal combustion engine and aerodynamics. The Porsche 963 uses a 4.6-liter biturbo V-8 mill based on the power plant from the 918 Spyder. And although Porsche hasn’t yet confirmed performance specs, the LMDh class is restricted to a maximum output of 640 hp. Other manufacturers who plan to compete in LMDh include Acura, BMW and Cadillac.
It never ceases to amaze me how short in height these cars are (ditto F1 cars). Walking through the pits Sunday morning before the race I noticed the cars' roofs don't even reach as high as my waist.
Yeah, I saw the record running car from Goodwood yesterday. Shockingly tiny.
They look much more imposing on TV, but then you see a photo of it next to a passenger car & it's shocking how diminutive they are.
@West6MT you headed to Mosport this weekend for the races?
@Chief F1 Fan
Nah, I haven't been up there in years. They kinda ruined some things with changes they made (related to camping & viewing mostly). It might be worth checking out again for just a single day/race, although that'd be close to 5 hours of driving for me now.
looks like a concept car nearly-cool! I'm excited to see a number of manufacturers entering the premier IMSA group next year, it will be like the old days when Porsche, Jag, Nissan, Toyota, Riley & Scott and Ferrari all participated.
Looks great
Will have to see if there's a common title for IMSA on my YTTV & get them to start recording. I've missed a few MotoGP recordings due to title changes that it doesn't catch. Luckily F1 doesn't have that problem.
Testing of Acura’s ARX-06 LMDh car ended early on Wednesday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta following the second accident in three days for the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing car that led to Wayne Taylor Racing’s Acura also being parked.
Sportscar365 understands that Matt McMurry lost control of the MSR car over the curbs in Turn 7, resulting in left-rear corner damage to the ORECA-chassied prototype.
It came following an accident on Monday by Tom Blomqvist, which was triggered by a rear suspension component failure.
That incident temporarily parked both Acuras as representatives from Honda Performance Development and ORECA worked to put together a temporary fix for a piece that will need to be redesigned.
Wednesday’s incident, unrelated to the issues on the opening day of testing, came at an inopportune time, as the MSR car had to be repaired on-site before being transported to the Windshear wind tunnel for the the ARX-06’s homologation, which is scheduled for later this week.
“On Monday, we had an incident with the No. 60 ARX-06 that resulted from a component failure,” said HPD President and technical director David Salters.
“Working with Oreca, we were able to manage this with a running condition change and had a productive day of testing on Tuesday.
“Today, a loss of traction and spin resulted in contact with the barrier, again with the No. 60 Acura.
“The cause of the spin and contact today is unrelated to the issue we experienced on Monday. However, it seemed prudent to stop and protect scarce parts as we have a date with the wind tunnel and homologation shortly.”
The IMSA-sanctioned GTP test came to a close on Wednesday afternoon with BMW and Cadillac completing additional mileage with its LMDh machinery.
The next major group test is understood to be at Daytona International Speedway later this month, which should see all four manufacturers present for the first time.

With NBC network coverage for the launch of this new platform combined with flag-to-flag availability on Peacock and many hours of programming on USA Network and CNBC, IMSA is poised to experience a substantial boost in interest and popularity beginning next season.”
The No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 won the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on Sunday after the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 was assessed a penalty in post-race technical inspection.
Driving the No. 6 Porsche, Mathieu Jaminet made a daring pass of Connor De Phillippi in the No. 25 BMW for the lead while both cars battled through lapped traffic with just five minutes remaining in the historic six-hour IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Watkins Glen International. That’s the way the cars finished as a full-course caution came out a lap later and the race finished under yellow.
However, in post-race inspection, the No. 6 Porsche was found with a skid block measuring less than the permitted minimum thickness and was moved to the rear of the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) finishing order, elevating the No. 25 BMW to victory.
My brother's last hurrah as Glen Prez comes to an end. Our friend Blll Patterson started painting the (hopefully) winning car about 6 minutes before the last yellow flag guaranteeing, temporarily, the Porsche's win which was later changed.
Bill typically donates the painting's auction value to a charity-at Daytona he sold one for $11K. I sent him a message asking if he had to paint the BMW now. Each driver for a team gets a trophy; each team had 2-3 drivers; there's 5 classes getting 1-3 so yeah, EVERYBODY gets a trophy! lol.
