Formula One star Lewis Hamilton is to swap his multi-million pound, 230mph McLaren to drive a modest family car for BBC Two's Top Gear show on Sunday.
Hamilton takes part in the programme's "star in a reasonably priced car" feature, where celebrities compete to post the fastest lap around a track.
The 22-year-old Briton is out to beat a time of one minute 44.4 seconds, set by Top Gear's resident driver The Stig.
Former Formula One stars Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and Mark Webber have already taken the challenge.
The select group of former drivers is pitted in a separate category to stars such as Hugh Grant, Simon Cowell, Ellen MacArthur and Gordon Ramsay who have all taken the challenge in the past.
The appearance will be the first on the show since Hamilton narrowly failed to win the world championship in his rookie season, losing out to Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen by one point.

And after they get Lew to run a lap, they ought to have Kimi come in and blow his ass away.

Can't even beat the Stig!
granted it was a wet track but he still was slower by 3/10ths
Lewis misses out on The Stig's record
Monday 3rd December 2007
Lewis Hamilton narrowly missed out on beating The Stig's record during Top Gear's 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' feature.
The McLaren driver, who took to the TV show's test track earlier this week to film an episode that was aired on Sunday night, set his lap time driving a Suzuki Liana on a wet track.
The 22-year-old fell 0.3s short of lap record set by The Stig, which is a blistering 1:44.4.
The Stig's time, though, was set on a dry track and Hamilton has vowed to return and beat the mysterious racer's time in similar conditions.
"Invite me back to do it on a dry day," he said.
But despite missing out on the record, Hamilton nonetheless impressed the bosses of Top Gear.
"I still keep replaying his second to last corner, because I've never seen a piece of driving quite like it," executive producer Andy Wilman told the show's website.
"The world is governed by the rules of physics, but he just seems to have his own set.
"The other thing you notice is he's so self-sufficient for a 22-year-old. Most F1 drivers need more maintenance and nannying than the car, but he doesn't seem to need anybody.
"In the interview, in (presenter Jeremy) Clarkson's backyard, he sat opposite one of the most confident broadcasters in the world and scored some cracking blows when the banter kicked off."
BTW-WTF's a Stig??

the Stig is an unknown former race car driver, that test drives all the cars featured on top gear on the same track to set a consistent bar for all cars to be measured against. his identity is shrouded in secrecy for some reason. He only appears on the show wearing a white racing suit and helmet and does not speak.

I've seen the show a ton of times boyz, I just asked WTF is a Stig? Is it an abbreviation for something? Name abbreviation? I don't know, it's just a weird thing to be called. It can't be MS-Germans don't like the English (remember WWII and all the bombs on London?)

The Stig's name derives from presenter Jeremy Clarkson's days at Repton School.[1] According to Clarkson, new students were always called "Stig." A proposed name for the Stig was originally "The Gimp" until protests from Perry McCarthy nixed the idea.[2] There have been two official Stigs on the show, while various other Stigs have made cameo appearances for particular episodes.
