Kimi wins in France
Formula 1 waved au revoir to Magny Cours in an utterly dull grand prix. The final race at the circuit will perhaps be remembered as Kimi Raikkonen's watershed moment at Ferrari.
The highly-rated, but inconsistent Finn outsmarted his team-mate Felipe Massa with a clever pit strategy to claim his second victory of the season.
On this performance it appears that talk of a decline at Ferrari is premature as the Italian squad stormed to a one-two finish.
A blistering start from Raikkonen saw the 27-year-old beat Lewis Hamilton into the first corner and take up position behind Massa. A rejuvenated Prancing Horse beat McLaren into submission with the rookie finishing third about half-a-minute behind the race-winner.
The crucial period of the race was during the second set of pit stops. Massa stopped on lap 43 with a three-second lead over Kimi who spent an extra two laps on track before pitting.
Ala Michael Schumacher the former McLaren driver put in a couple of quick laps before ducking into the pits. Raikkonen emerged on track ahead of his team-mate which effectively gave him his 11th career win.
World Champion Fernando Alonso endured a testing afternoon and spent large portions of the race behind Giancarlo Fisichella and Nick Heidfeld as he struggled to an unconvincing seventh-place finish.
Honda's travails are behind them for now as Jenson Button piloted the fragile RA107 to eighth, while Robert Kubica showed no hangover after his huge shunt in Canada to take an impressive fourth place.
The navelgazing now begins in earnest for the Woking outfit as Alonso is 14 points adrift of Hamilton, with the Prancing Horse now snarling down their necks.
Questions must be asked about McLaren's decision to three-stop Hamilton, although the championship leader will be relieved that Massa was eclipsed by his team-mate Raikkonen.
Full report to follow.

Maybe just me, but this race seems much more entertaining than the previous two in NA.

Kimi got around Massa because Massa was help up by traffic after his pit stop while KIMI had clear track to put in hot laps. Also, Massas his pitstop was a second slower than Kimi's. That article is retarded. Kimi had a great race though, and good on him for getting another win. He had a brilliant start.
Anyway, I thought the race had some great racing. There were a few side to side battles that were quite exciting.
Ferrari 1,2 Finish.

Can't wait to see what happens at Silverstone. It's gonna be tight. I have a feeling Ferrari's aero pkg is better than McLaren's on that kind of track.

When is McLaren gonna get busted for having an aero component that responds to varying aero loads? Or is FIA going to let it slip through a loophole?

I read somewhere the FIA is actually considering allowing for this to occur (wing flex). Ferrari's still move too-in the French GP on a closeup you could see it flexing near the chassis nosecone.
