F1TV Users

About to cut YouTubeTV, which seems to keep going up & up. I think it was sub-$60/mo when I first got it & it's about $80/mo now.

For those without something like AppleTV, and no F1TV native app, how are you streaming F1TV to your primary TV?

I do have a RaspberryPi, that I conceivably could use for this, but I'm really space limited with my living room TV. The Pi has the extra benefit of a hardwire & not requiring wifi, though my AP is right next to the TV as well, so signal would be strong for any device.

Chromecast w/ Google TV (for the remote and UI). Otherwise, a regular Chromecast and just use your phone as a remote.

I've been thinking about cancelling YTTV as well. It's $73/mo now. When I signed up it was $35. The only thing keeping me from doing it is football since I use a VPN and can get NY channels But even then, there's other, cheaper options.

Yeah, I've never really been a 'ball sports' follower. Watch the Astros games when they're broadcast, but that's about it.
Biggest loss on YTTV is now I don't have MotoGP, will have to see how much the GP pkg is & if I want the extra investment.

Tried to add F1TV to the Roku TV in my office, but don't remember the pin
Always enjoy having it on the 55" TV vs my desk monitor. But it's running a PC for display, so I can just do F1TV via the web for FP sessions.
Chromecast with remote is only $30, and I think my in-laws might have one floating around their house unused.

Browsing the F1TV menus [pulled the trigger & killed YTTV & added F1TV].
Think I may start way back & watch the 70s highlights, then all the races 1980-2013 that I didn't watch [because I wasn't alive , or didn't have access to].

More of the same, as expected.
Looks a bit sleeker from the frontal view.
Does look good though

New team kits are coming out.

I like last year's RBR kits better. Not a big fan of the dash lines on the sleeves.

GM's motorsports boss made a comment regarding the Andretti-Cadillac F1 application.:
So obviously they (F1) made their statement, said GM's Campbell, and we have asked for a follow up meeting with FOM and so we will work through that.

Cars looked pretty solid for most of the day. No red flags & few on track incidents.

Was coming to post this today. It's been mentioned a few times in testing coverage.
Something to do with ME [Bahrain/Saudi] race timing?

We may want to introduce something of a team pick rule for this year, since RB & RBR are so close?

Leave it alone but increase the amount of times you can pick driver/teams due to the extended schedule.

An extra team pick might go a long way too, since last season showed how hard it gets when you run out of RBR,MB,Fer,MCL picks & points are a rarity.

And RB is pissing off Ford already

CEO of Ford demands resolution of investigation into Red Bull team principal Christian Horner

The CEO of Ford Motor Co. insisted on a resolution into the investigation of Red Bull team principal Christian Horner in a letter sent to the team, a copy of which was obtained Sunday by The Associated Press. The letter dated Friday from Ford CEO Jim Farley expressed his displeasure with “the unresolved allegations of inappropriate behavior by Red Bull Racing leadership.”

Farley noted it had been 11 days since Ford, which is set to become Red Bull’s engine supplier in 2026, first requested further information into the investigation Red Bull’s parent company announced on Feb. 5 into allegations made against Horner by a team employee. Red Bull has given no public details on the accusations, which were initially characterized internally as an investigation into Horner’s “aggressive management style” but have now shifted to reports of sexual misconduct. Horner has denied any wrongdoing and said he also wanted a quick resolution to the investigation.

I don't understand why Ford is even involved. If Honda isn't saying anything, Ford should shut up.

The real reason why Steiner was fired?

https://www.grandprix.com/news/stein...s-dispute.html
Gunther had found a $20 million sponsor. But he also wanted shares in the team to stay with Haas. (Gene) Haas said 'No, we won't do that'. So Steiner himself pulled the plug, he divulged.

Good for Gunther. Why bring in a large sponsor and not get anything for it, especially when you're working for a guy that's happy being dead last.

Because you're an employee and that's part of your job description?

Gunther had the right to ask for equity, and Haas had the right to sack him.

And I still maintain that that's better for Gunther. I suspect he will be back in F1 sooner than later and likely at a more successful team.

But to your point, yes he is an employee. But he's essentially the face of the team, and he hates losing. He wanted a stake in the team, just like Toto has, just like Christian has, to be able to influence progress. Gene just wants backmarker billboards for his machining company because it helps that business. He doesn't care about investing in the team if he doesn't have to.

No one except those involved knows the truth of the Horner situation, whether there’s some truth or likewise. I extremely doubt nothing happened but as we know these situations can be very complicated
