When Arnold popping out was the best part of the race, then you've got problems. Very underwhelmed by the race. The Mercedes is just in a whole different class. Rosberg not being able to challenge Hamilton made it especially boring. Seems like Mercedes and Ferrari really stepped up this year, while Renault fell back.

It seems to me that the reduced testing has affected the product they are delivering. I'd prefer a few more days of testing so we don't have AUS GP's like this every year. And the fans in AUS deserve to have a full field on the grid. I think we've gotten to a point where testing limitations have gone too far the other way now. Maybe they should look at other ways to save costs....
This lack of off season testing really needs to stop. They need to give these other teams more time to work on their cars. its going to be a Merc runaway until the next big rules change that starts everyone over again. F1 is going to really go down hill if they dont make some big changes.
Ferrari looks like they made the biggest off season advances.
Not since the Nurburing was sold and the new buyers said it wasn't worth it. So Hockenheim was going to try and save the German GP and do it back to back but finally gave up it seems.
Not so sure it's Bernie's fault this time. The Nurburgring had dwindling attendance the last few races and took heavy financial hits. It hosted last year's race; Hockemheim was supposed to host this year's but Nurburgring got it instead; and, it would have the race again next year: 3 races in a row and not enough $$$$ flow = no race at the 'Ring.

Of course it's Bernies fault. The fee he collects from the tracks are outrageous, causing the tracks to set ridiculous ticket prices. High ticket prices=less fans at the track.
Giedo van der Garde is going to be paid EUR 15m for his troubles from Sauber. If he did pay EUR 8m to Sauber last year to be their 2015 driver, then that means he made a very decent profit. So where is Sauber going to get this money from?

Following your logic then, all tracks should be incapable of running races. The fees are outrageous for sure but governments cough up cash when they need to keep the race intact.

I'm all for free market economics. However, the only races that get government subsidies are places that F1 wouldn't go to otherwise (Abu Dhabi, cough, cough). If F1 races fell under WTO trade rules, then government subsidies wouldn't be allowed due to unfair competition. There is no chance that Germany would ever subsidize an F1 race.
Somehow Ferrari and Mercedes got around the fuel flow rate limitation, and the FIA is now ready to clamp down. Don't know if this is true, or if this is Renault's theory that they are trying to have the FIA investigate.
JB had the fourth best cornering rating throughout the race. Seems the chassis is at the very least a strong foundation. I hope they can ramp up the PU power fast.

^ I agree, this public bickering is ridiculous. Get your heads down and do the work. I've read rumours that STR might be sold to Renault and turned into a works team. Not sure where that would leave RBR for a power unit supplier though.
Amazing race, especially after that boring Melbourne opener. It would have been fascinating to see if Vettel could have won if the Mercedes didn't pit during the full course caution. I suspect that Mercedes would have won, but Vettel's pace in the first few laps were on par with Hamilton's.
It was a good race, although with Ferrari being easier on tire management, even Hamilton doubted he could have challenged Vettel.
Not a big Vettel fan, but I do like his hard work ethics (he was speaking in Italian on the radio after the victory) and attitude and it paid off Sunday, even Kimi with his damaged undertray managed to get up to 4th after the contact (not his fault) caused a puncture and tire ripping apart.
Way to go Ferrrari, Alonso took in in stride as well.
Don't forget, this is not Vettel's first win with an Italian team or with Ferrari, so I'd think his Italian is quite good.
Love it with the meltdown at Mercedes.
Hamilton's angry exchanges:
Hamilton: This is the wrong tyre man.
Engineer: The other was well used.
A lap later and with Vettel showing good pace Hamilton again vents his anger.
Hamilton: I can hear you (in response to one engineer trying to grab a quick word.) I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. Paddy (Lowe, team technical chief) says I might be doing another stop.
Engineer: That was just miscommunication. That was just chatter.
Two laps later and Hamilton blows again.
Engineer: Lewis you are scheduled to catch Vettel with five laps remaining.
Hamilton: Don't try and talk to me through the corners. I nearly went off.
Great race compared to the first. Only got to watch it on my DVR last night. Luckily I managed to not have any spoilers before then. Glad to see someone other than Merc up top even if cause of the questionable pit stops they had.

They sell replica helmets of a large number of F1 former and current drivers.
Prost's helmet is also very good, but it kept changing. For some reason, the Brazilians normally have good helmets (Fittipaldi, Senna, Barrichello, Piquet, Massa, da Matta).
