F1 qualifying changes again

The FIA has rubber stamped changes to the qualifying system now in place and very unpopular. There will be one timed session on Saturday between 1-2 pm w/ the order set by reversing the order of the last race. So Kimi will qualify last, Heidfeld 2nd last, etc. I just wish they'd go to one hour session on Saturday and every team could go balls to the wall on near empty tanks.

Not right now. They still have the Parc Ferme in place. I miss the early 2000s when teams were allowed to work on the car on Saturday night to get the final tweaks worked out. So what if Ferrari just dominated those years. If one team has a compeditive advantage because they have superior engineers and mechanics that work seamlessly toward a common goal, that's their reward.

The rule wasn't changed in deference to Ferrari, it was changed to make qualifying more competitive (like it wasn't already!) and more importantly, to lower costs and "improve the show." It failed miserably in that last regard as tv networks are screamin' about the current way quali goes.
