I take it your shots are from your seats. Can you get up higher in the stand? Looks like a tight course.

^ we had general admission tickets. But we lucked out and found a spot that was ~30' from the cars (Howard and Pratt streets) by the chicaine before the train tracks. It was the closted I've ever been to any race car in action.
We watched the one hour practice session and watching the different drivers take the chicaine really showed the talent. Franchitti, Power, Castroneves, Dixon, and Power were really good at knowing how much to take the curbing for the chicaine and then one through laying down just the right amount of power to avoid wheelspin on the train tracks.
For a two mile circuit they are getting good average speed, faster lap times were 1:24. 90+MPH for a tight circuit, having 3 decnt straights helps.
The ALMS cars were also fun to watch in practice, the engine notes are incredible different. from the big block C6R's, to the diesel turbo of Audi's, a Ferrari 458 scream, and the turbo pop-off overrun of the 911's.
Great event if you're in the area I highly recommend it.
