Oh Gerhard--you IDIOT!

Former F1 driver Gerhard Berger has made some mind-boggling accusations relating to Mark Webber's crash during the Korean Grand Prix.

Webber's Championship hopes took a massive nosedive at the Yeongam circuit on Sunday when he crashed out on lap 18 while second behind team-mate Sebastian Vettel. He took out Mercedes' Nico Rosberg after spinning and crashing into the wall.

The Australian was quick to put his hand up after the race saying "it was totally my fault, I got on the kerb on the exit of Turn 12 and it was a very slow-motion moment off the back of that kerb - it was my mistake and it wasn't my day".

However, Berger believes there is something sinister about the way he collected Rosberg.

"He could have hit the brakes and stopped the car at the wall," the Austrian said on his native Servus TV.

"He took out Rosberg, but it was the wrong one. I think in his mind he would have preferred (Fernando) Alonso or (Lewis) Hamilton."

When asked if he thought Webber took someone intentionally out, Berger answered: "Yes, it's clear. He goes off and it's over. It's so frustrating and a thousand thoughts go through your mind. Either he had a brake problem, but I don't think he did. One has the feeling that you would rather take one with you, take a point off him."

I want to see a replay of that incident, but there's not doubt that Webber is a dirty driver.

And how many times did he take points from MS . . .

. . . . while Prez of the FIA when Rubens moved over to give Michael the lead/points in countless races??? ZERO times folks. STFU Max. God, who puts a microphone in front of these old fools??

Max Mosley believes the Drivers' Championship will be 'devalued' if Fernando Alonso wins it by seven points or less.

With just two grands prix remaining, Alonso is leading the World title chase by 11 points over Red Bull's Mark Webber thanks to four race wins in the last seven events.

However, the first of those wins came in Germany in rather dubious circumstances when Ferrari ordered his team-mate Felipe Massa, through a coded message, to move aside, gifting Alonso the victory.

His P1 finish earned the double World Champion at extra seven points and Ferrari a $100,000 fine for team orders, which are banned from F1.

"I did feel at the very least that the extra points that Alonso got by overtaking Massa under team orders should have been taken away," Mosley, the former head of the FIA, told BBC radio.

"That's the absolute minimum, because if by any chance Alonso were to win the Championship with a margin less than the seven points that he picked up, I would say illegitimately in Hockenheim, it would devalue the Championship.

"But that's just a personal view."

Lazy journalists...

Editor: Write me a new story on F1 so we can add it as filler to the sports pages.
Reporter: But there's nothing going on. There are no races for two weeks, and they banned testing.
Editor: Ah, just go interview some random controversial figure to stir up conversations and to rile up Chief.
Reporter: How about that Nazi loving old dude?
Editor: Perfect.

what was interesting is that Monticello thought it had the race locked up after NJ turned it down. They were out of contention before they announced they were in.

is FA serious or just saying that so he doesn't get stoned to death by the Brazilians?

http://planetf1.com/news/3213/648664...-Brazilian-Win

Doesn't make sense really. He needs to bag as many points as possible unless he can guarantee himself 2nd place for the final two races.

I think he's just saying that, or he believes that Massa won't be able to keep up with him and the other top contenders.

Even with his goose egg, dallison still has a commanding lead at the top.

There are only 5 players still mathematically capable of winning the championship. The contenders are dallison, speed, uzzmaan, Chief, and F-C. With Red Bull winning the constructors championship, and none of the contenders picking Red Bull for the championship, the potential end of year bonus for the contenders falls from 50 points to 25 points.

That may be, but I had the foresight to pick Vettel, who will win the championship, and give me the extra 25pts.

I hope Vettel fights for the win so he makes life miserable for Webber. Vettel, Webber, FA (1-3) will bag Alonso the WC. Prediction: Vettel pulls over if he's ahead of Webber that way Webber will win WC by 1 point.

List of predictions for the championship:

dallison: Hamilton
speed: Hamilton
uzzmann: Hamilton
Chief: Alonso
F-C: Vettel
West: Alonso
Dougler: Vettel
fsttyms: Schumacher
stangg: Button
Tommy: Button
Taffeta: Vettel

No one picked Webber.
Hamilton is a real long shot. Those that picked Alonso, Vettel, or Hamilton can potentially move their positions by quite a bit.

Well then F-C, for those still in the hunt amongst us, you and I are the only 2 that have a shot at the 25 bonus points. Effin' Webber better not win (Vettel either!)

ain't ever gonna happen Dougler-he's going to move/botch a pit stop/do something indescribably and barely perceptibly slower just to let Webbo win.

What are the chances that Alonso needs a new engine, Webber and vettel has problems and Hamilton wins

Well, as Planet F1 sez: Lewis Hamilton can claim the title it if he wins and all his rivals fail to finish in the top ten. Which is about as likely as a snowstorm on Sunday. It's not impossible, but it would be a set of circumstances that haven't occurred so far in 2010.

If webber and vettel only get a few points and alonso doesnt get any points then hamilton can win if he's first.

^^correct, unlikely but correct. A strong Hamilton won't hurt Alonso if he stays in the race but will really hurt RBR.

You are only 123 points behind 5th place F-C in the Fantasy League. You can make that up in Abu Dhabi easy.
