I believe it's Nakajima, not Nakajimo.

I'm still waiting for Coulthard to be dumped by Red Bull. Also hoping that Barrichello retires before New Year.

How much would it suck going from a top tier team to dead last team??? (Besides Honda). But, you get what you deserve-no results, constantly outdriven by everyone who is on the team, you're old, time to get out and fend for yourself. I kinda liked Fisico too, met him in Indy at the hotel and got a chance to talk to him and Trulli in the lobby.

Fisi was one of my favorites, but he needs to leave and give the new kids a chance. Same goes for Coulthard.

If Fisichella is confirmed tomorrow, it would be the earliest confirmed field that I have ever seen. All seats grabbed up by early January!

Wurz is a better tester than he is a driver on the grid. His skills it has been said as a tester, are very very good. I think this is a good move by Honda. Ross obviously is onto something there.

we have 59 days to get this going. heres what im thinking...

-Users would have a certain amount of time to commit to this, we'd accept entries for a few weeks.

-Users would choose a season winner for both a driver and a constructor

-Users would choose one winner for each of the 18 races. Entries should be in by the Thursday before the given race weekend.

-Users would be awarded points in the same manner as F1 awards their drivers "with the winner receiving 10 points, the second place finisher 8 points, third 6, fourth 5, fifth 4 and sixth 3, seventh 2 and eighth 1." At the end of the season, the Users who chose the winning driver and constructor will receive 25 points for each.

so obviously this is just to get things going and is in no way written in stone, thoughts?

So how would the points be given? Say you choose Sutil to win Oz, however, Fisichella wins.

Unless you pick Force India to win and Sutil, the only points you'd get would be for the constructor, and nothing for the win by Fisichella. At least, that's how I'm reading stangg's post. Correct me if I'm wrong.

you wouldnt get any points in that case. The points you get are the points your weekly driver gets. And at the end of the season, if your driver/constructor win you get an additional 25 for each added to your total score. Im thinking we should allow one practice session before we submit our weekly bids, that way we get a rough idea on which driver is doing good at the given track...

So, how is this going to work? Are we going to pick one driver and then stick to him the rest of the season? Or can we change drivers for each race? So if I like Kimi's chances in Australia, but would rather go with Heikki in KL, I can do that?

Should be pretty interesting to see how this works out, if we get enough people into it

Both. You pick one driver and one constructor as your season pick. Then each race you again pick one driver. If that driver wins, you get 10 points, 2nd place, 8 points etc etc. We would need to make a rule that states that you can only pick the same weekly driver a set number of times. That way we avoid having a situation where a driver does great the whole season and we all have an insane amount of points. Im thinking you can only pick the same driver 4 times.

So as an example, I pick Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari as the season champions. Now come Australia, i could pick any driver. Lets say i pick Alonso as the winner. Now its sunday and the result are that Alonso actually finished 4th which would give me 5 points. So after Race one i have 5 points. We then repeat that process each race weekend and keep track of the points. (Because of this, we would need a mod to keep track of the points and update the first post with the standings.) Now, come Brazil lets say i have 98 points and it turns out that Ferrari got the constructors but Hamilton did win the drivers champoion ship. I would then add 25 to 98 making my total points 123. And the winner would get something. I dont know what it should be but i guess ill paypal the winner five bucks or somethings.

chiefy, what do you think?

Sounds great! And since you came up w/ the scoring system, I nominate you to be the points keeper. Seriously, I'm overwhelmed this year so I can participate, I just can't be the points keeper. You up for that Stang?

yeah but id need you to update the first post with the current standings each race week.

so yes, i will keep track of points for those who decide they want to participate.

So as of today, the deadline for Season driver and Team is March 1st, two weeks before Australia. Ill start a new thread...

Fantasy Season Winner Recognition Suggestion.

Someone talented (surely NOT me), should create a custom avatar for the season winner. Along the lines of "2008 F1 Fantasy League Season Champion".

Does that sound as as it looks in writing?
