This is our first attempt so expect mistakes and delays but bear with us; hopefully it'll turn out great.

Here’s the dealio, If you choose to participate (entries must be in by March 1st, 2008), you must submit one Driver Champion and one Constructor Champion. They do not necessarily have to be the same but I guess you better your odds at winning if they are.

After you have chosen your season picks, you then pick a race week winner. You choose just one winner each week and the point he earns that race weekend, are then awarded to you.

So as an example, I pick Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari as the season champions. Now come Australia, I could pick any driver I want. Let’s say i pick Alonso as the winner for Australia. Now it’s Sunday and the result are that Alonso actually finished 4th and so he was awarded 5 points per F1 rules and regulations. These points are then awarded to me. So after Race 1 (Australia) I have 5 points. We then repeat that process each race weekend and keep track of the points. Now come Brazil (last race of the season), lets say I have 98 points. It also turns out that Ferrari got the constructors (my preseason constructor pick) but Hamilton (my preseason driver pick) did not win the drivers championship. I would then add 25 to 98 making my total points 123. We would then see who had the most points and the winner gets something really really cool!

Rules :

1. By March 1st of 2008, your season pick must be submitted in this thread. Your post should go as follows: Your User Name, Driver of choice, and Constructor of choice.

2. You are also allowed one weekly pick that does not necessarily have to be your season pick but it is allowed. You can pick the same driver a maximum of 3 times this season

3. You are to submit your weekly pick by midnight the Friday before the race (giving you time to watch the first practice session)

4. Keep this thread clean of anything but season and weekly picks, we an discuss here

5. I am in charge of adding up the points weekly and Chiefy is in charge of editing the Standings Post.

6. If you forget to submit a weekly bid, you are not penalized nor rewarded, you just get 0 points so do not fret.

7. Also, lets come up with an award. Right now I have no ideas. And as always, these rules are not written in stone, criticize and suggest away!

Call it blind faith Chief. Besides this is just for the bonus 25 pts right? The weekly picks are what will matter most, and those won't come till before every race anyway.

I think rule #2 should be modified to say the driver/mfr you pick to win cannot be picked more than 3 times but any driver can be picked a max of 8 times for any position other than 1st. So you would pick two drivers per race (1 to win and 1 to come in 2-8). Thoughts?

y'know, that was my second pick F-C but I didn't take him b/c he doesn't know how to win races yet and surely doesn't have the knowledge to win the WC. I think he may turn out to be faster than Hamilton though.

That means you are in on probation. To earn points, you need to submit an appeal to the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Acurazine). Then appear before the Moderator Council to plead your case. Of course Ferrari ( and their fanboy West6 ) will be against you.

F1 this year will be bittersweet in my opinion. Went to all the F1 races at Indy, as much as I don't like Tony George and the CART/IRL bull, he and his team did a great job for the F1 races. Tickets were very reasonable and I had the chance to take some of the best race car pictures I have ever taken. Not that I ever had any fond thoughts about Bernie the fact that FIA gave Tony and IMS, the promoter award after they pulled the race from Indy shows what an ass Bernie is. If it's still open I'll pick Massa and Scuderia Ferrari. I'll pay the 100m Euro fine and I'll post some pictures as the season progresses.
