I'm 19, and have a huge interest in investing in stocks and I wish to learn more.
I am defintely open up to suggestions

Side Note to answer this thread:
One book I been reading is the Rich Dad Guide to Investing by Robert T. Kiyosaki.
His books are definitely something to read for some intellects.
He has also created board games that deals with financing and investing and all the other good stuff.
It's called "CASHFLOW 101" Amazon has them, but the game is a bit pricey.

"investing for dummies" is good if you're just starting out. even my friend that is now hugely successful at edward jones was reading that a few years ago.

Learn how to save first, read "The Richest Man in Babylon"
It's only $7 and a very easy read.

I thought it was an alright book. Basically lots of stats that people who live under their means and save a lot are millionaires.

Robert Kiyosaki is a scam artist (in my opinion). He makes his money off selling advice and not actually by using his advice.
Take a look at this site for more details: http://www.johntreed.com/Kiyosaki.html

I personally enjoyed reading Peter Lynch's books. I think they're good for general, starting out advice.

I'd also suggest reading all the articles / tutorials here -
http://www.investopedia.com
Its a great site that will teach you alot (not necessarly a strategy, but just knowledge on the markets).

Personally, I think the best way to learn to invest is to start young and learn by trying. They way I started was by having a few thousand, investing 1-3k in a few different stocks, following them closely, changing my strategy a few times. Each time I wanted to try a new strategy, I'd read a book on it (or vice versa - I'd follow the advice in a book). I definitely made some mistakes (and some big ones), but I think I'm better off cause of my 'jump right in approach'. And if you make a big mistake, its better to make it when your 20 and don't have much money, then when you're 40 and have a a half million invested.

Yeah I figured this out on my own. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad but then he kept spewing out books. If a person knows what they are talking about then their primary source of income should be doing what they preach. Selling books and giving lectures should be a far second.

If you want a very simple investment strategy that can do well over time check out the Bogleheads.
http://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Video...ent_philosophy

Even if you choose not to invest this way the videos are informative.
