what's a good credit card to get with cash-back rewards?

I'm done with my current credit card, so I'm looking for a new one. I don't really care what company it is, as long as it's widely accepted and has cash-back rewards built in.

Help me out! Thanks.

Citibank dividend

-Earn cash back on everything–a full 5% cash back on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations, plus 1% on all other purchases

-No annual fee

Although to answer your question, Discover has come good products with cash back, but if you are looking for wider acceptibility, like internationally, go with a citicard, i have even pulled up a link for you http://www.citibank.com/us/cards/car...plat/index.jsp

Edit: In the mean time i wrote this post, ppl have answered ur question exactly like i did, so go with the common verdict !!

Thanks, everyone!

Citibank looks like a winner, and I just applied there. It says I'll hear from them within 30 days via mail.

No way. Are you sure? I have pretty high limits (well, for a 23-year-old, anyway) with Visa, MasterCard and Discover right now. Why would CitiBank MasterCard decline me?

Also, when I got my MasterCard, they also said I will hear from them via mail, and they sent me a card within a few days.

"Will hear from us via mail" = declined??

Why do you need 3 credit cards at 23? ...and are you looking for a 4th?

I just don't use the MasterCard and the Discovery cards anymore. The Visa will be cancelled, and that's why I want a new one with good rewards. MasterCard is a GM Card, and I have over a 1,000 dollars in earnings, but I've already decided that I'm not going to be getting another GM, so why not get cashback rewards instead, right?

I hope it goes through. CitiBank's rewards program sounds pretty decent.

for optimal credit score you should only have 2 or 3 credit cards. everytime you open or close one if negatively affects you credit. credit scores, youll learn alot.

Not true, American Express tells you right away if you got approved or not. Alot of banks take 30 days to make a decision and within the next 2-3 weeks, you'll hear from them, and by 30 days, it doesnt mean you automatically got declined.

I got an increase from Citibank that took 3 days...and I've been a client for 9 or 10 years...don't sweat a denial just yet.

Pretty True

2. everytime you open or close one if negatively affects you credit.

Not true in most cases
But, overall...less is better. Pretty good advise nonetheless.

That’s the one I just got a few months ago.
I’ve been burning it up buying building products for the garage remodel.
I’m already due a 79-dollar rewards check.

Oh...and guys...believe it or not, sometimes the machines are down & a real person has to look at the credit, hense the 30 day remark(possibly).

Amex recently turned my GF down(Costco Rewards Card). Her credit is near 800's, has no debt other than a home/car payment and makes a shitload of money...she called them up & someone IMMEDIATELY said it was a 'system error' and shot the card out to her. Apparently, one of the little India-ans made a mistake, but they wouldn't admit it.
