recently ive been debating whether i made a right choice with my career goal.. i always kinda wanted to design as a living.. ever since freshman in highschool.. but my mom kept urging me to get a job in the dental lab field.. since this is a new year.. and a new semester.. i was thinking of starting over at a new school.. and pursuing industrial design... do u guyz think this is a good idea? ive been going to a tech school for about 1 year now studying dental lab tech.. but im really not liking it..

i noticed there is some pros and cons in both careers.. dental lab has very little competiton compared to the enormous amount of job competitions in the industrial design field..

but overall salary is like 20K higher for industrial design..

anywho.. u guyz give me some input on what i should do.. hehe.. i just wanna give my mom enough to think about so that i dont get pushed into something i dont wanna do.. and maybe u guyz know something about dental lab that i might like..

hehe.. i thought so too.. lol.. u guyz have any hard facts on industrial design? something that korean parents would here and go "wow" over?

 

why not be a dentist, and specialize in something. You will get PAID.

 

i wish i could be a dentist.. but unfortunately i didnt study through high school.. so i couldnt get into a university.. lol.. so my only options are tech schools/ art schools or community colleges.. plus.. studying isnt really my "thing"

i was specializing in being a dental lab tech.. basically making of dentures and such.. but it seems like a pain in the butt for the salary they get...

and dental lab tech is around 36K
both these careers actually dont require typing/spelling.. just communication skills and hands-on skills..
hehe nobody else to ask.. all my friends are still in college too.. and there super confused on what to do as well.. haha
i wish! life would be sooooo much simpler.. no taxes and such.. but my parents would probably kill me..

 

seriously, pick what you would be truly interested in pursuing as a career. otherwise, your life will be hell.
