'Slang' in the business title

I am wondering what your reaction would be initially, while going through the county publication I saw the ribbon cutting for a new business in town: "Mo' Coffee Please" www.mocoffeeplease.com. My girlfriend seems to think its catchy, I think its kind of dumb but I'm no expert on the subject.

This is a big country, very diverse demographic...you know what I mean.
Unless your target is a specific type or subsection, I don't think it's good idea.
I think it's dumb too.

I understand what they're trying to do and I am blk myself but it still does not appeal to me.. the county we're in is pretty diverse so I don't really get it.

I do my best to avoid any business with slang or intentional misspellings in the name. The worst is when they use a K instead of a C for no apparent reason. "Krazy Kustoms" and that shit.

it's all a business decision and what their target demographic is. with a name like 'Mo' Coffee, i'm sure they're looking to be more "trendy" or catchy than Starbucks.

i never liked krispy kreme myself...but not 'cuz of the name, i don't like donuts.

Point is, what difference does it make? if they provide a good service and/or product at a good price, then what's the difference? 2Fast2Furious sucked because of the movie, not because of the title.

Krispy Kreme is one of the worst offenders.

The use of such slang or intentional misspelling make the proprietors look uneducated. If there was a choice, i would give my business elsewhere. Such stuff annoys me too. As stated above, it is a business decision and an attempt to grab the attention of a certain demographic. I'm not in that demographic.

I suppose the conclusion is that when one attempts to attract a certain demographic, one should be wary about excluding others.

I'd have to agree, thoug it depends on the type of business, too. I've seen clubs named "Xscape". You have to keep in mind when you're going to the bank for financing, "Mo'" might reflect on YOU, as well.

I beg to differ. What is it you folks think of Dunkin Donuts? There is a Chinese Restaurant near me named Da Ho. I think they were first going for a cute name. The Web Site appears to be well done.

Now if the name was something like Sambos which did exist in the recent past, I'd understand.

Sambo's had good pancakes & breakfasts. You can still eat at the original one in Santa Barbara.

You can, I will not but thanks for the info. Thought and hoped they all were closed. I never crossed their doorstep. Consider it an insult based on history. Everyone has a line that they will not cross, you found mine.
