Quick auto loan question...

Does anyone know if getting a new car loan requires income verification now? I'm curious if they're accepting stated income still.

P.S., no I don't want to claim income I don't make to buy a car I can't afford (although the temptation is there). It's a mere curiousity.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is just about any significant loan will require income verification.

I think W-2s or a check stub were required, along with the lender's independent verification of employment.
