Investing at age 65?
My parents are asking me what to invest in at their age. My dad's 65 and just retired a couple of days ago. My mom is 58 and wants to work a few more years. At their age, they obviously don't want to take a lot of risk but are looking for a (relatively) safe investment with good return. They have CD's, and IRA's (both purchaced recently) and are thinking of annuities now. Is there anything else they should look at, maybe mutual funds or bonds? I'm trying to avoid them locking in their money for too long. I think one to five years would be the most I'd want them to lock up their money for.
Thanks

What kind of rate of return are they hoping for?
