Hate to burst your bubble, but inflation is 3% so you are losing money.

Is your emigrant direct account paying less than 2.6% now?

I am about to transfer money to an emigrant savings account, so I am curious what you like more about ING. Is it easier to transfer funds, is the customer support better? I am not sure if that matters too much to me, since I am just plopping money from a money market into a savings account to get a better rate. Thanks in advance.

I also haven't had my Emigrant account for too long but I like dealing with ING's website better than emigrants. It has a better user interface. It a personal preference I guess.

Fair enough - I am going to open an ING acct with minimal funds just to have one, plus to get the $25. So I'll have to compare the two.

Long term inflation averages out to 3%. But considering our economy has been less than great as far as growth is concerned, it's not that high right now. Based on the Consumer Price Index, the two year moving avg actually puts inflation at about 2.45%, but it is going up.

fvck, my 1 year's CD rates are lower than regular savings. the other CD rates are higher as well, and i'm locked in with the lower rates. i think i should cancel the 2-3 ones and lock in with the higher rates.
