Car Insurance and deductibles?
What insurance do you have? And what kind of deductible? Do you claim dings and scratches?
I recently changed mine to 100 dollar deductible for comprehensive. If i ever get a ding on my car, i want to correct it using insurance.
I had 1000 deductible, and it was only 20 dollars less a month, I did get a ding, and it cost me a crap load to fix..
please give me some advice on this subject if you have it.

No point in paying $240 per annum guaranteed just to get minor incidental coverage.
Let's say you get a dent that costs $500 to fix. With your coverage, you'll end up saving $500 - $100 -$240 = $160. But, the more claims you make, the higher your coverage will go.

As the others said, don't claim dings/scratches. First of all it a big pain in the ass to file a claim. The insurance adjuster has to come out and look at it. They will want you to use an approved paint shop (that probably sucks). You don't have to use their paint shop but they won't want to pay your shop's higher rate. Next thing you know you are into a big pissing contest.
Do that a couple of times and the insurance company starts to hate you. First they will jack your rate, then they will dump you if you keep it up.
If $100 deductable is only $20 more than the $1000 deductable I would keep it at $100. That way you will save $900 if you really need insurance.

I've got a 100,000(per person)/300,000(per accident)/50,000(Property damage) policy, includes comp and collision, with a 1000 deductible.
