$50k startup--small business investment ideas?
What can be done with a $50k startup ballpark, preferably a non franchise?
Coffee shop? Dry Cleaners? Delicatessan? Pizzaria etc?

How about an eBay store? I've seen these on TV and apparently they do well (but who knows if they really do).
You basically get yourself a store in a strip mall and sell peoples' crap on eBay. You can do this business in one of two ways. Simply list the crap and take 10% of the sale price or out right buy the stuff and try to get more on eBay.
Or how about a Rita's water ice or a Dairy Queen? The places in Jersey make a killing in the summer and they are closed in the winter.

Open up a good strip club in gainesville, florida and you are golden, 48,000 students and not one decent strip club in the city. We all go to tampa instead.

Umm, what if city laws/permits prohibit such an establishment within a given zoning radius? Every establishment has to pass city approval, and more risque adult establishments might be permitted within certain zones.

doopstr,
That's not a bad idea, I had a mail order, ebay operation while as a college student. Running a store front would be a different dimension though.
Thanks SpeedyV6 for the tip, will look into the site.

Coffe Shop, Deli & Pizza for $50K...no sweat. But dry cleaners have some expensive equipment to purchase/maintain. Not like a $3K used pizza oven.
Night clubs are not a bad deal, selling liquor is a big money-maker when done correctly.
