Hey guys just wondering, just got a quote from a dealer here in KC and they want to charge me about 300 dollars to install an aspec kit on my 3G TL. Isn't this a bit on the high side? Anyone else pay this price or does anyone know a good shop or person in KC to install cheaper? Thanks in advance!

 

DO NOT pay for the installation.

I'm sure there are guys on here in KC that will install it for you for close to nothing or a few beers =)

 

Hit me up. I'm off next two days. Like Guitarplayer said, I can do it on the cheap, compared to that!

 

Do it yourself. It's too easy to be spending 300.

That being said, I did it with a few friends and spent about $60 to get them to help

 

$300 isn't bad IMO.

$300 is a good deal to install it from the dealer. plus it's a 12 month 12 thousand mile warranty.

I thought about going that route and then I did it myself. It came out nice and, other than being somewhat time consuming (especially if you're anal about how your car looks), it's pretty easy.

Does that mean if it gets damaged or scratched they will replace it free of charge? Sorry if I sound like a dumbass, but a warranty on a lip kit install kind of puzzles me

 

It's not specific to the lip kit. All work completed at the Acura dealership is backed by a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty.

I doubt it covers scratches or damage caused by the owner. However, if there were problems with gaps between the lip and body or problems w/ the tape not sticking correctly, etc... stuff like that could get fixed without additional cost.

Is it already painted to match? If so it should be fairly easy to install.

That would be fine, Idk if Ill be putting the rear of the aspec on till I get my lights in from ACK, Im going to attempt the install on my own with the help of my buddy, but Ill be glad to help with OP's.

Didnt get to it yet, once I put the switchbacks in I didnt have time.

 

I've got a new mod coming-even Anil doesn't know about it yet. But I'll need assistance getting it on the Type S! Not sure when it will arrive though.

I'm available the weekend of March 3rd & 4th. My new wife will be coming out of her 2nd surgery on Tuesday of this week. So I'll probably be OK to do something that Sunday. If you guys want to come over to my house, we could probably do it here.....

Unfortunately, Rhonda is not OK. We have to go back for a 2nd operation on Tuesday. They didn't get everything. So we drive to Columbia again in 2 days....

I do need help with all 4 brake pads though! I've got another mod coming-I'll keep you guys (and Anil) in suspense! But I'd still like to paint all the calipers red....

Still haven't got my aspec kit yet major reason is I am still debating between the kit or getting the aspec suspension what do you all think? This car's body roll is crazy bad and not that fun to drive. Anyone got experience installing Aspec springs and shocks????
