Unhappy '04- 110,000 miles -does it need a rebuild, any place in Twin Cities MN?

I was told when I bought this at 84,000 miles that it would need a water pump replacement at 110-115K...
I was told this may be $1600- is that correct? What's everyone else doing? I searched- found nothing.

Timing belt and water pump replacement at 105k is what the manual requests, it's just regular maintenance, expensive as heck though. Something like $1500 at the dealer, but others have gotten it done for ~$700 sourcing the parts themselves and having a private mechanic do it.

Thank you Phantom! but I called, they wanted $1150 with the valve adjustment. With the coolant and tranny flush, plus an alignment, I'm looking at around $1600...

Oh well, so I checked they're 28 reviews online- almost all were "AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!" and I've worked at dealerships- so I know how it works...

ANYONE know a GOOD Place to bring my Acura in MN- that has GOOD honest people that know acuras?

Checked the only other dealership in the twin cities listed online- same results.
When I called, she said I may not need the valves adjusted, so WP+TB+Plugs would be around $1150... Plus a lot more for flushes and such.

uhggg.

I do computer work for a place North Country Tire. They are the only "commercial" mechanical shop I bring my stuff to. They have always beaten prices by a decent amount, and they stand by the work. There are some things you just dont want to have Joe Garage work on, and I think this is one of them.

Here is their number: (763) 757-3130. I'm not saying I've got any clout with them, but it wouldn't hurt to mention that Brian (their computer guy) referred you to them. They may cut you a friend of a friend type deal. At the very least, it will show them that I'm loyal

Not sure where you are from, but they are in Blaine right off 65 (I think it's 112th? 113th?) - it's just down the street from Best Buy / Brunswick. Next to the RV dealership.

Thanks Brian-
I'm in Burnsville, but Blaine is on the way to my daughters place. It may work out ok.
Thanks for the help. I'll call them tomorrow morning!
