Just bought a TL ! Any good places in the DC area for mods?
Hi everyone, I just bought a 07 NBP TL 3 days ago, and I'm already researching and planning my list of modifications. First on my list is tint!
I have the NBP, so I was thinking 20% all around, but I want a consistent finish that goes with the color of the car. Any ideas of any great shops around the DC or NOVA area?

I had mine done at driven dynamics in Rockville.
They're good people and use computer cut 3m tint. Also you can kinda watch them do the work which is kind of a big deal for me cause I like to see what's going on.
IIRC it cost like 175$ a couple years ago. They have a website too.

the owner over at TNT...you can literally just hang out and watch him do the work and he'll pretty much talk about anything (cars, literature, life). he's done both my cars. absolutely no issues. he has also done a lot of high end cars of some high profile people. he stands by his work too.

WOW, do I feel welcome lol
thanks everyone for all their input, I heard some good and bad stuff about matt at TNT, so I might try him or zeibarts. After the tint, it's the stage 3 exhaust that I've been reading so much about!

make sure you're not confusing the "TNT tinting" in VA beach with Matt in alexandria which is "TNT Tint". they are not related in any way. the one in VA beach is the one that is being reviewed on that site you posted from what i can tell. matt works alone and has no staff. his yelp reviews are stellar.

Congrats and welcome!!!!
That's good idea! Tint was first thing I did after purchased my TL.
Don't forget posting pics!
I'm also trying to get another tint done for my TL next week. I just removed my previous 20% tint film 3 days ago due to repair order.
I made an appointment with Driven Dynamic. I'm just gonna get legal limit% this time..

Hey I just got a new TL back in January and will be tinting my windows soon. I hear good things about TNT and called and talked to him and he seemed like a good guy. Think he quoted me at 250. There is a place next to my house in Arlington called Sonic Soundz and he quoted me at 205. Their reviews we mostly positive as well. Thinking them just because they are less then a mile from my house.

congrats on the buy! im in the nova area as well, CBP TypeS with black wheels and trim in case you see me around. i did 35% tint on the side and 20% on the back glass because i have a light interior. looks good in my opinion and no issues with the law as of yet.

I have a NBP with 15% tint and in my opinion it isnt dark enough. If you want to get the windows to match the color of the car you need to do 5%. I did 5% on my tail lights and it was a perfect match. I've had 15% on two cars so far for 2 1/2 years and never got pulled over for it. Ive been pulled over but they have never said anything about the tint on the windows or the tail lights. most cops wont pull you over for tint unless you're also doing something else wrong

^^in VA, they'll pull you over for just tint. welcome to the commonwealth!
any darker than 35% or even 20%, you can't see out at night. limo tint...forget about it. you're not gonna see a damn thing at night. it seems us old folks go for 35%...something about our vision going bad as we age.

probably closer to 25-30% factory is about 75%...so whatever the math comes out to be. as long as you dont' draw attention to yourself, the cops should leave you alone. if you frequent certain jurisdictions, you have a risk of them pulling you over for it.
if you have a light colored interior it helps. i have black interios so my tint looks darker than it is.
