1. Reason for selling.
I recently purchased a SH-AWD TL, as it was the next evolutionary step after a Type-S.
2. Are you the first owner? If not, how many owners were there (to the best of your knowledge)?
I am, at least, the third owner.
3a. TITLE: Is it clean, clear, rebuilt, or salvage? If other, please explain.
Clean title in hand, in my name.
3b. Do you have title in hand or it is being held by a lienholder?
Clean title in hand, in my name.
4. Pictures: Just a reminder to be sure to post interior and exterior pictures showing both sides of the car and front and rear.
Plenty of pictures attached.
5. If leased, provide details, such as length of lease, payoff amount, etc.
Clean title in hand, in my name.
6. TIMING BELT: If your car has a timing belt, and it is near or over 105,000 miles, or has lesser miles but is 8 years old or older, post if and/or when the timing belt was changed, and the mileage, and also if the water pump and tensioner were replaced.
The timing belt/water pump kit, among other items, were replaced prior to my purchase in March of 2021 at the ~133k mile mark.

Preface:
You are not looking at a car. You are looking at an experience. I do not want to sell my car because I have loved every moment with it since I purchased it. However, I don't have much free time anymore, nor do I have the space to keep another car. If you are seeking out a Point A-to-Point B car, this is not the car for you. If you are an enthusiast, like myself, then this is definitely an experience you want if you've never had it before.
Prologue:
Let's begin with the basics:
-2007 Acura TL Type-S
-Front wheel drive
-3.5L V6
-5 Speed automatic transmission, with SportShift mode (this feature is crucial.)
-Nighthawk Black Pearl exterior
-Ebony/silver interior
-Almost 155,000 miles
-Mechanically bone stock
-Never involved in any accident
-Clean title in hand, in my name
Modifications:
-Yellow PIIA fog light bulbs
-Aluminum billet oil cap (the factory OEM ones frequently crack/break and oil seeps out, just like mine did.)
-Endless RPM black, diamond stitch seat covers
-eBay Type-S badge on the front grille (3M tape, so can be removed.)
General information:
A lot of repairs, including majors ones, were performed on this car prior to my purchase. The only servicing this car will need for quite some time, will be oil changes and tire rotations. I have some documentation from the previous owner that will be included with the sale. When I initially took ownership, I had Blackstone Labs do an UOA. The engine is perfectly sound and healthy. Tires are at 7/32nd tread. Since only a handful of main features don't function properly, I will list out what feature currently do -NOT- operate as intended:
1) Handbrake: The handbrake is loose from the tuning rivet wheel inside the rear rotors. Right now, the handbrake does not function to compress the pads. I have never used it, and don't believe I ever will. If you were to want the handbrake to function, you'd need to buy new brake pads for the drums (inside/behind the rear rotors), install them, and then adjust the tension from the rivet wheel.
2) TPMS: Recently, one of the TPMS have been intermittently failing. I say intermittently because on some days, it works, and on other days, it does not. From what I observed, it seems only at a specific temperature and above. This issue doesn't bother me. I manually check my tire pressures often, and they have never lost air.
3) Tint: Tint was installed during the previous ownership. I personally don't care for tint. The rear window tint is bubbled, and looks unfavorable. For me the tint seems too dark for nighttime parking, but thankfully, there's a reverse backup camera.
4) Seats: A common issue with the third generation TL is the poor quality seating upholstery. The seats very frequently tear due to the poor material. The fix for this is Endless RPM seat covers. The original seats aren't torn up heavily, but the allurement these seat covers had was too profound for giving the interior an extra appeal. I didn't have enough time to install the front seat covers on fully as intended, when I attempted to put them on one day.
5) Cupholder tray: Another common issue, where they all break. So, you can not close the cupholder tray. This never bothered me.
6) Strut assemblies: The struts currently clunk over deeper potholes and harsher bumps. This hasn't bothered me enough to swap out the entire assemblies yet. However, I did purchase another set with lower miles to have on hand.
7) Oil Pump Seal: The oil pump was replaced during the previous ownership, and from what I gathered, the seal was pinched. There's a slight leak of oil, but it never seeps enough to make it onto the ground. I check my oil level, coolant level, and tire pressures every few days. I add a bit of oil every time I notice the level on the dipstick being low. For me, this was a miner gripe, but it needs to be mentioned.
8) Rear quarter panel rust: The car had this rust when I purchased it, and progressed a very minute amount from this past winter. I did ask and receive a quote from a reputable body shop (through friends' word of mouth), and the cost would be $650 + tax. I just haven't had time. If I manage to get this fixed before I sell the car, the price will increase.
Aside from these flaws, this car has been sensational. The limits this setup defies, is astounding. The levels of handling it reaches is dumbfounding. It's literally the best FWD car I have driven up to this point. I don't miss driving a manual transmission when I drive it due to the SportShift mode. Don't let anyone who knocks on the automatics make you believe otherwise. You literally have full control over every single gear. In stock configuration, the average stock dyno is ~255 WHP and ~225 WTQ. This car is adequately quick for ~3,700 lb. Even so during suboptimal traction, thanks due to the clever VSA design. This is not a car, this is an experience. An experience that I can't believe I have enjoyed so much from a FWD car.
If you wish to -ONLY- purchase the car (I would remove the seat covers), then the price is $11,000 $10,000 for Acurazine. You will receive:
-2 keys
-The car's AutoCheck, alongside repair orders and other documentation
-Acura ELS demonstration disc (to experience the true potential of the OEM sound system)
-Owner's Manual and all other literature
-Dealer brochure for the 2008 Acura TL and Type-S model year, with all specifications
-Clean title in my name
I have some spare parts that I bought to have on hand, because that's the type of enthusiast I am.
-Set of 4 genuine OEM Enkei rims
-New set of 4 TPMS
-Used set of 4 genuine OEM strut assemblies with lower mileage, from a wrecked 2007 Type-S
If you wish to purchase the car, and all of the extra parts, then the price is $13,000 $12,000 for Acurazine.
Epilogue:
I have dealt with people in the past who just would not work with me, period. I don't wish for anyone to have those challenges. I have purchased cars in the past from out of state, and I would be willing to accommodate as much as I reasonably, and possible, can. You can TEXT me any time PM me on here, Acurazine. If I don't respond back promptly, I will eventually respond when I have a chance. All I can say, as I've said a few times now, is that this car is an experience. I wish you great luck on your endeavors in finding the right car for you!
