Description:
2006 Acura TL 6MT/Navi. Redondo Red Pearl, Parchment interior.
The good-
- - Original owner. Bought new Oct 2006.
- - Lifelong stick-shift driver, so I didn't cut my teeth on this clutch. It's fine.
- - 130200 miles.
- - It's got the stiffer suspension and Brembo brakes that only the 6MT cars got.
- - Maintenance kept up. I have spreadsheet with service dates & mileage. Most work done by me except the timing belt.
- - Transmission has been fed GM SynchroMesh FM fluid since ~10k miles, changed every 3 years, no notchy shifting that so many complained of (and I had too, before switching fluids).
- - Everything essentially works on the car. Bluetooth, AC blows cold, stereo has no issues.
- - Dash is fully intact, no cracks. I have used a fitted sun shield from day one.
- - ATLP J-pipe. I have the original J-pipe too, will provide that with the car.
- - iSimple Bluetooth/Aux adapter
- - Rotated wiper arms CCW one spline, installed 2013 Honda Accord wiper blades. They tuck below hood line when off- very clean look from driver's seat.
- - Headliner loose in a couple of spots, through the center. It's not loose at the edges, only in a couple of indented/curved areas, so it wouldn't fall/flap around in any case. I have it pinned up with those headliner "repair pins."
- - Passenger seat torn, I put a similar-looking band-aid patch over it to prevent further tears.
- - Minor dent in left rear quarter where someone hit me in work parking lot years ago. I didn't get it fixed as it took a while to notice, and I've had bad luck with long-term paint matching on panel repairs.
- - Lower door window trim is faded & flaking. 3M Vvivid 1080 tape and a few hours of your time will fix this.
- - Navi voice instructions are no more. Voice only crackles. Alpine can repair, but for me, it was why bother? I've rarely used it in years. Screen, interface, and voice commands from driver work fine.
- - Not really bad, per se, but the front nose and hood do have 14 years of accumulated rock chips and sand rash. It was hard to capture in the pics, so not obvious from 3 feet, but I should mention it nonetheless.
- - Both rear calipers. Both seized within months of one another.
- - Bluetooth module- replaced with OEM rebuilt unit
- - Front LCA compliance bushings
- - Tires. They are just above the 2/32 wear marks, still legal but barely. We can do this two ways- either I put new tires on before the sale, or I give $500 credit based on agreed upon sale price, and you go buy your own.
- - Timing belt & water pump should probably be done next year, it was last done late 2013. Current belt has ~70k miles on it.
- - Parking brake is nearing the end of its travel, so may need new shoes within the next year or two. Still holds fine.
I think this will make a great daily driver for someone. I hope you enjoy this car as much as I have over the years.
