Thinking about getting a RSX

Hi all. First post here. I am very close at springing for a 2004 RSX. Price seems good and it has under 100k and it has no mods. I would hope that the CarFax report is accurate (clean 2 owner) or the car hasn't been beaten to death. A Honda dealership near me can get this car from another Honda place since they are part of the same auto group. It would go through the inspection process at both dealerships and any issues would be fixed (no warranty). The Honda dealership was trying to steer me away from the RSX and get me into another car for $5k more. He said it could have problems, price is good and he was surprised it wasn't sold yet, etc.

I checked some of the auto sales sites and the RSXs seem to be for sale for months even with the prices below NADA/KBB. I would think people would be snapping these up because they are good prices but who knows. Are people still buying these things? They seem to be reliable cars and everything I have read about them seems good. I am hoping that this car hasn't been beat to death. Maybe this car is sitting because others know something I don't.

since you havent seen it yet, it would be worthwhile to actually check it out and to see and inspect what kind of condition it is in, before committing

and SURE people are still buying older cars.
BUTT, with new drivers(millennials) they dont care so much about driving experience, more so the tech inside the car...so, you bet they are buying BRAND new cars

Cool. Thanks for the replies. I am only seeing pictures of it and it looks like it is in good shape. The car is about a 10 hour drive from where I am so I am basing it off the pics only. The RSXs in my area have much way more miles. The Honda dealer said if I want it, they have to buy it from the other Honda dealership and then sell it to me. They said I can test drive it and as long as everything looks good then it will be mine. I asked them about the possibility of backing out if it isn't up to my liking and they weren't too happy about that. lol

for what it's worth, my car was sitting on the lot for 6 months to a year. it was originally a Kansas car and was bought through auctions and some how ended up in Texas, where it sat and was abused by test drivers, until i found it by chance

Looking at the car in the pics, something doesn't look right. It looks like the floor is yellow/tan and the seats are grey. Hopefully it wasn't flooded or they tried to change something out. They list the interior as Titanium. Does this look right?

Very similar to how I got my car. I got a good deal, but my car had a few issues. I didnt mind though. Mostly cosmetic stuff like a small chip in the glass, some scratching and paint chips, and what was hidden from me was a small fender bender at some point the bumper was repainted and there were some broken plastic bits. That was dissapointing but not a huge deal really. Carfax didnt list it probably because the PO took it to an independent shop for everything. After a good detail the car cleaned up great and I have added 30,000 miles to the previous 130,000 with no real issues. I have an 04 TL tho. Because the car sat so long the tires were slightly dead spotted too but they get replaced eventually.

Since it is an older car(not too old), I would try to factor in extra maintenance and repairs to the cost. If its close to the 100k mark, chances are the timing chain/water pump needs to be replaced. Could also try to see if they will replace it with the purchase of the vehicle.
